The invention relates to a hand-held observation device. The observation device is characterized in that a first observation channel comprises a first opto-mechanical stabilization unit for actively and equally stabilizing, during an observation, a first observation optical axis and an LRF axis of an integrated laser range finder by compensating for hand jitter during the observation, the first opto-mechanical stabilization unit being adapted for continuously adjusting and setting a lateral position (with respect to the optical axis) of at least one lens of the objective optical system of the first optical observation channel, in a way automatically controlled by an electronic processing and control unit, which reads and processes the gyro sensor data, particularly in a way wherein the adjusting of the lateral position of the at least one lens equally stabilizes the first observation optical axis and the LRF axis in one go.

Stabilized observation with LRF function

In a day/night-vision device, provision is made to view observations made via a day- or night-vision channel in a shared receiving channel or via an eyepiece unit as day image or night image by designing and arranging a deflector such that the same deflector is used to transfer radiation from the day- or night-vision channel into the shared receiving channel. In particular, it is also provided that further images, such as thermal images, can be transferred to the observer and can be overlaid by the day image or night image, in particular fused.

Day/night-vision device

A device for the magnified viewing of an object, from which object rays originate, includes a lens system () for collecting object rays. In one embodiment of the invention, the device includes: a display () from which display rays () originate, and; a left eyepiece () and a right eyepiece (), via which a left-eye and right-eye beam (and) of visual field rays are projected into the left and right eye of a user of the device. According to this inventive embodiment, an optical component () is provided with a physical ray distributing surface () on which a beam of collected object rays () and a beam of display rays () can be superimposed and can be divided up into the left-eye beam and right-eye beam () of the visual field rays. This enables a reduction in losses of display rays and object rays.

Devices for the magnified viewing of an object

In an observation device according to the invention, it is possible to coordinate a multiplicity of functions with the device by using and exchanging optical modules. By means of existing optical components in the observation device, transmitted and/or received beams of the modules can be reflected in and/or reflected out. For example, field glasses, binoculars and measuring glassed can be equipped according to the invention with modules. The modules can be produced for special purposes, can be carried in particular as convenient units and can be inserted into the device and removed therefrom an can be exchanged. An optical module may be, for example, in the form of a camera, graphic display or IR laser. The modular multifunctional observation device according to the invention can be designed as a compact and light device by using optical components already present in the 'basic system.'

Multifunctional observation device

The invention relates to an especially monocular night-vision device comprising a lens () and lens systems () which project the light strengthened by means of a residual light amplifier () in a pre-determined wave range, onto a receptor lying on a receiving beam axis (), such as a human eye (). Reflective elements () bend the beam path of the light through the night-vision device. The reflecting surfaces of at least one pair of the reflective elements () are oriented in a coplanar manner. At least one optical component () is provided between at least one pair of the four reflective elements ().

Night-vision device

A night vision device has a lens ( ) arranged along an optical axis (A) and focusing the low-level light emanating from an object to be observed onto an entry window ( ) of a low-light-level amplifier ( ). An optical module ( ) projects the object image available at the exit window ( ) of the low-light-level amplifier ( ) and represented in a predetermined wavelength range onto at least one receptor, such as a human eye ( ). The beam path between the exit window ( ) of the low-light-level amplifier ( ) and the receptor ( ) is determined by reflective optical elements ( ), one ( ) of which is located along an axis (B) leading to the receptor ( ) essentially parallel to the axis (A) of the lens ( ) and is essentially reflective for the predetermined wavelength range of the low-light-level amplifier ( ) but, if required, essentially transparent for other wavelength ranges.

Night vision device

A device having night vision capability, in particular a laser distance-measuring device, has at least two optical channels (A-C), of which a first (A) focuses the low-level light emitted by an object by a mirror ( ) and of an optical system ( ) onto the entry window ( ) of a low-light-level amplifier ( ). The image of the object, which is available at the exit window ( ) of the low-light-level amplifier ( ), is displayed in a predetermined wavelength range and is electronically amplified, and is projected by a further mirror ( ) to a receptor ( &prime;) on the second optical channel. The first optical channel (A) responsible for night observation has at least one of the mirrors ( ) in the form of a first splitter mirror ( ) which can be switched on or off and reflects the light in the predetermined wavelength range but is essentially completely transparent for the laser wavelength. Furthermore, in addition to the optical system ( ) focusing the low-level light emitted by an object onto the entry window ( ) of the low-light-level amplifier ( ), a further optical system ( ) is also provided which focuses the electronically amplified image of the object, available at the exit window ( ), in an associated image plane ( ).
