A method of determining the volume of fluid contained in a collapsible bottle, the collapsible bottle containing a fluid to be dispensed from a fluid dispenser. The fluid dispenser has a distance measuring sensor, and the collapsible bottle is coupled to the fluid dispenser so that a preselected surface of the collapsible bottle is positioned in a measurement path of the sensor. The fluid dispenser is activated to dispense an allotment of the fluid from the collapsible bottle, the collapsible bottle collapsing in a predictable manner as the fluid is dispensed from the collapsible bottle. The sensor is used to measure a distance between the sensor and the preselected surface of the collapsible bottle, the distance changing predictably as the collapsible bottle collapses. The volume of the fluid contained in the collapsible bottle is determined based on the distance between the sensor and the preselected surface of the collapsible bottle.

The invention provides a fluid propulsion augmentation arrangement and method, capable of also generating control moments (), providing increased thrust () at reduced speed, reduced drag at increased speed, under conditions in which traditional approach cannot provide sufficient performance. It consists of a wing () located in a propulsion system () fluid intake region (), having a slanted trailing edge () coinciding with a fraction of the propulsion intake (), pivotally connected (), allowing position adjustments. At reduced speed, the wing () and the propulsion system intake () are placed adjacently, the intake low pressure determines wing () fluid-dynamic force () generation. Increasing speed, wing () position varies, following fluid stream () convergence change, maintaining an angle of attack for increased L/D, ensuring increased performance, and also varying control moments ().

A fluid level gauging mechanism external of a reservoir bottle in a dispenser which mechanism emits electromagnetic radiation and senses the electromagnetic radiation emitted which passes through the bottle or is reflected from the bottle through a wall of the bottle into the bottle at a first height and senses reflected radiation passing outwardly from the bottle at a second different height.
