A vascular prosthesis includes an outer crimped textile graft and an inner polymeric liner. The polymeric liner is secured to the valleys of the crimps of the textile graft while leaving the peaks of the textile graft free of the liner. The polymeric liner is impermeable to blood flow. The inner liner may include expanded polytetrafluoroethylene polymer, and the graft may include polyethylene terephthalate yarns.

A small diameter vascular prosthesis includes an outer textile graft, an intermediate self-supporting coil or stent and an inner microporous layer. The outer textile graft allows for tissue ingrowth. The inner microporous layer provides blood impermeability without preclotting the prosthesis. The coil or stent provides kink resistance and resistance again collapsing of the outer textile graft and the inner microporous layer.

Small diameter vascular prosthesis

An anastomosis device may include an anchor including a base with an opening and a riser portion securably associated with the base. The base is configured to be disposed within a body lumen. The riser portion includes at least one attachment point with a tubular and hollow graft secured directly to the at least one of attachment point of the riser portion. The at least one attachment point of the riser portion is free of sutures or pins traversing portions of the graft proximal the riser portion. The at least one of attachment point of the riser portion may be in the form a tip of a hook. The anastomosis device may further include at least two additional attachment points for securing the graft to the riser portion.

Stent-graft for anastomosis

A sealing arrangement for a medical introducer having a distal end for introduction into a patient's blood vessel. The introducer includes a flexible sealing member having an aperture for introduction of a guide wire or other medical device therethrough. A constraining structure, such as a washer, tightly contacts and surrounds the sealing member just proximal to an enlarged diameter flange at the distal end of the sealing member. The inner diameter of the constraining member is less than the outer diameter of the flange providing a constraint on the sealing member and lessening the distortion of the sealing member normally occasioned when a device is pulled outwardly or proximally through the introducer away from the patient. When the constraining structure is a washer, the washer is easily assembled to the introducer by simply being fitted into an annular notch formed just proximal to the distal end of the sealing member.

A drainage and autotransfusion system is coupled with a closed wound drain. A detachable suction reservoir provides suction to the system to facilitate drainage of blood from the wound into a substantially rigid collection container. This blood is adapted to be transferred into an attached blood bag which in turn may be coupled with an administration set for reinfusion. While blood is reinfusing, blood collection into the container continues. Following autotransfusion, the suction reservoir can be converted to a suction device for blood collection directly from the closed wound drain.

Closed wound orthopaedic drainage and autotransfusion system

A breast prosthesis implant is disclosed comprising a generally conical bio-compatible fabric shell. The shell is pervious to tissue growth and body fluids. The interior of the shell is divided into series of discrete chambers separated by pervious fabric dividers, the chambers containing masses of bio-compatible fibers. The fiber concentration in the chambers nearest the apex of the cone is less than the concentration in chambers progressively further from the cone apex. Preferably, the shell is somewhat stretchable to permit the volume of the shell to increase or decrease in accordance with the weight gain or loss of the patient.

An adapter 10 and a mating trocar element 20 for use in a trocar assembly 30. The adapter 10 is cylindrical in shape with a continuous bore 12 running therethrough. A first end 14 of the adapter 10 has a reduction in diameter and a second end 16 of the adapter 10 is internally threaded 18 along the bore 12. The first end 14 is sized so as to allow frictional engagement with the end of a mating flexible tube 32. The reduction in diameter of the first end 14 preferably corresponds to the wall thickness of the mating flexible tube 32, so as to maintain a continuous outer surface between the adapter 10 and the mating tube of constant outer diameter. The second end 16 is internally threaded 18 along the bore 12 so as to allow fastenable engagement with a threaded end 24 of the mating trocar element 20. The mating trocar element 20 has the shape of a rod with a first end 22 being formed with or machined to a sharp point and a second end 24 having a reduction in diameter which is threaded 26 so as to mate with the threaded bore 18 of the adapter 10. The reduction in diameter of the second end 24 preferably corresponds to the wall thickness of the threaded bore portion 18 of the adapter 10, so as to maintain a continuous outer surface between the trocar element 20 and the adapter 10 of constant outer diameter.

A vascular tubular graft of a woven fabric with a single velour outside (external) surface and a smooth interior surface, said outside surface having a plurality of loops, each loop extending around a portion of the circumference thereof and each loop formed by fill yarn positioned about warp yarn.
