Embodiments of PUF systems are disclosed. Embodiments of such PUFs may be operated in the classical domain or the quantum domain, and moreover, may comprise substantially the same circuitry, and operate substantially the same, when operating in the classical domain or the quantum domain. Additionally, embodiments of such PUF systems may be effectively utilized to generate uniquely identifying signatures for electronic devices based on electronic circuity, photonic circuitry or some combination of electronic and photonic circuitry and may be utilized to generate such signatures for such electronic devices regardless of whether such electronic device themselves operate in the classical or quantum domain.

Systems and methods for hybrid physical unclonable functions

Embodiments of systems and methods for a multi-source true random number generator (TRNG) are disclosed. A set of values is generated from each of the sources of randomness and an extractor is applied each of the set of values to produce a set of random values from each source. At least one extractor for at least one of the sources is a multi-radix extractor. The sets of values generated from each source of randomness can be composited to generate a random bitstring as the output of the TRNG.

Disclosed is a functional NIRS imaging system including an elastomeric cap, a set of transmit optical fibers and a set of receive optical fibers terminating on the inside surface of the elastomeric cap. A pair of light sources combines to produce a collimated light beam at two wavelengths. An optical modulation system, converts the light beam into a plurality of probe light beams, modulates the plurality of probe light beams and directs each probe light beam into a transmit fiber. An optical detection system accepts scattered photons from subcutaneous tissue underneath the elastomeric cap as a plurality of collected light beams and converts them into a time series of electronic images, stores the electronic images into the memory and processes the electronic images using. The system displays the resulting image on a display as a hemoglobin oxygen saturation map.

Functional near infrared spectroscopy imaging system and method

The present invention discloses an apparatus and method to track the movement of a target. One embodiment tracks the movement of the patient during medical imaging scanning using optical technology. Optical systems record the position and movement of the target and provide inputs to a processor. The processor is capable of performing mathematical analysis of the movement of the target to determine the positional shift of the patient. Weighted averages, phase correlation, Fourier-Mellin algorithms, and cross-correlation of data related to X-Y translation are used to calculate movement of the target subject. Feedback related to the movement is provided to the medical imaging scanning machine which allows for adjustments in focusing coils for real time tracking of the patient's movements during the procedure. As a result, the medical image scanning procedure becomes more accurate as it is adjusted for the patient's movements.

Apparatus and method for tracking movement of a target

A geographical web browser allows a user to navigate a network application such as the Word Wide Web by physically navigating in geographical coordinates. For example, a geographical web browser is implemented in a mobile unit such as a dashboard computer. The mobile unit includes one or more transducers such as antennas and is operative to receive locally broadcast signals or to operate a global positioning system (GPS) receiver. As the mobile unit navigates into different physical localities, different web pages are displayed by the geographical web browser. For example, a user desiring to buy a house can set the web browser to a real estate web page. Instead of clicking on a hyperlink to access web pages of properties in an area, the user drives into a first area and automatically receives web pages relating to homes in that area. When the mobile unit crosses town and enters a second area, a new set of web pages is downloaded relating to properties in the second area. The geographical web browser, methods, apparatus and systems disclosed herein enable improved road-navigation and traffic management, advertisement, and related services.

A geographical web browser allows a user to navigate a network application such as the Word Wide Web by physically navigating in geographical coordinates and roaming through coverage areas of cellular base stations, wireless LANs, microcells, and other such broadcast domains. A mobile unit communicates with a network server via an air interface that supports wireless packet data. Information is transmitted from the network server to the mobile unit based upon the mobile unit's current location. In some embodiments, the information is used to notify the user that further information is available for download.

The present invention discloses a method for determining location and movement of a moving object. One embodiment of the method tracks the movement of a target during medical imaging scanning and transmits the position shift to the medical imaging scanning device in real time. The method includes the steps of projecting structured light on the target, receiving the reflection of structured light, converting the received structured light into spatial positions, and transmitting the positional shift to the medical imaging scanning device. The method further includes the step of adjusting the medical imaging scanning device in response to the positional change to increase accuracy.

Method for determining location and movement of a moving object

The invention provides for optical circulators which redirect light from port to port sequentially in one direction used to separate traffic in a bidirectional optical fiber transmission system. The invention provides for using two optical circulators in each span of bidirectional fiber so that the OSC channel can be transmitted in one direction opposite to the WDM channels. The invention also provides for a gigabit Ethernet path between chassis which is utilized for control traffic and customer traffic. The invention is placed in a non-critical region of the optical spectrum and is independent of all other chassis equipment. The invention also provides the advantage in alternate embodiments of providing the option of a second counter propagating WDM channel being transmitted along with the OSC to provide additional system capacity. The invention also provides the advantage in an alternate embodiment of allowing the OSC to be amplified through a raman source without the need of complete system retrofit.

Wave division multiplexed optical transport system utilizing optical circulators to isolate an optical service channel

The present invention relates, in general, to the field of motion tracking, and in particular to join a target in an MRI application. In particular the invention teaches an apparatus and method to track the movement of a target during medical imaging scanning using optical technology. Optical systems record the position and movement of the pattern and are able to perform mathematical analysis of the pattern to determine the positional shift of the patient. Weighted averages, Fourier transforms, Hadamard matrices and cross-correlation of data related to X-Y translation, rotation and scaling of the image of the pattern are used to analyze movement of the subject's head. Feedback related to the movement is provided to the MRI machine which allows for adjustments in focusing coils for real time tracking of the patient's movements during the MRI procedure. As a result, the MRI procedure becomes more accurate as it is adjusted for the patient's movements.

A multi-section filter is provided for use in processing optical signals and other signals that can be readily projected from one filter section to another. Filters of the invention can be configured in numerous forms, including IIR and FIR filters and both linear and 2D active optical lattice filters.
