A method for providing quick access to device functionality responsive to a touch gesture may include receiving an indication of a swipe gesture being performed from a first predefined portion of a display to a second predefined portion of a touch screen display, classifying the swipe gesture as a trigger gesture based on insertion of a motion delay of at least a threshold period of time in connection with the swipe gesture, and causing, in response to classifying the trigger gesture, a display of a predefined set of functional elements that cause execution of a corresponding function when a respective one of the predefined set of functional elements is selected. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.

A method of capturing an image from a video call between a first user and a remote user over a communication network. The method includes receiving video data from the remote user at a client executed at a user terminal of the first user, the video data comprising a sequence of frames; the client capturing a frame of the video data responsive to a command from the first user; the client extracting image data from the frame; the client converting the image data to an image file and embedding a communication identity of the remote user in the image file, wherein the communication identity is suitable for initiating a communication event with the remote user; and storing the image file on a storage means of the user terminal.

A wireless handset for use in a peer-to-peer voice communications system comprising: a display; a keyboard comprising multifunctional keys capable of entering numeric or alphabetic characters depending on a number of key presses, said keyboard being arranged to enter contact information into a user interface displayed on said display, select contacts on the user interface, and initiate a packet data voice call with a contact; a microprocessor arranged to execute embedded client software, wherein the client software is arranged to establish a packet data voice call over the network and encode speech information as individually addressed packets; and a radio communication device arranged to transmit said individually addressed packets as radio signals from said wireless handset to a network.

A method of sorting communication events at a user terminal connected to a communication network and executing a communication client arranged to be operable by a user is provided. The method comprises storing an event list comprising a list of identifiers, each identifier having information relating to at least one previously received communication event associated therewith, wherein the identifier identifies the initiator of the associated at least one previously received communication event and each identifier is listed only once in the list of identifiers. The event list is displayed in a user interface of the communication client. The method further comprises receiving an incoming communication event at the user terminal from an initiating user over the communication network and determining whether the initiating user is present in the list of identifiers stored in the event list. In the case that the initiating user is present in the list of identifiers, the event list is amended by adding information relating to the incoming communication event to the information relating to the at least one previously received communication event associated with the identifier of the initiating user. In the case that the initiating user is not present in the list of identifiers, a new entry is created at the top of the event list comprising an identifier for the initiating user and having information relating to the incoming communication event associated therewith. The display of the event list is updated in the user interface of the communication client.
