A rotating electromagnetic machine has a tubular axle with mounting rings, a common ring, a coil input ring, and at least one bearing set mounted on it. A fitting is secured at a distal end of the tubular axle, and a commutator is secured at the proximal end. A housing is mounted on the bearing sets through adaptors. Connecting bars extend axially within the axle with lateral rods joined to the connecting bars at their distal ends, the bars commuting between segments of the commutator electromagnetic coils. A plurality of the electromagnetic coils are secured to the coil input ring. The coils are formed of spiral turns of a single flat strip electrically conductive material. A plurality of peripheral and sector magnets are mounted adjacent to the electromagnetic coils with electromagnetic interaction when relative motion occurs between the coils and the magnets.

A magnet machine may translate or rotate with one element stationary and another element moving. One element has mounted thereon a plurality of magnets arranged in a sequenced array extensive in the direction of operation, the magnets fixed with N-pole magnet faces opposing S-pole magnet faces across gaps between the magnets, and side faces arranged in a plane. A second element has a single or integrated magnet mounted with one pole face positioned parallel to, and gapped apart from the plane of the plurality of magnets. This pole face is disrupted by an array of spaced apart grooves. The direction of motion is in the plane. A solenoid may be mounted within one or more of the grooves so provide a staring force or a braking force to the moving element.

A motor-generator apparatus has a stator and a rotor in a cylindrical arrangement about a central longitudinal axis. The stator has a static circular magnetic surface spaced apart from, a static circular electromagnetic surface. The rotor has a cylindrical arrangement of radially oriented laminations positioned proximal to, and between the static circular magnetic, and the static circular electromagnetic surfaces. The rotor is supported for rotation relative to the stator. A circular arrangement of electromagnets are electrically interconnected for carrying an electrical current for energizing the circular electromagnetic surface which is discontinuous with a plurality of portions gapped apart.

A flying craft has an aerodynamic aircraft fuselage structure preferably disc shaped. A pair of coaxial electrokinetic motor-generators are mounted concentrically, and preferably centered within the disc shaped structure of the craft. Each of the motors is toroidal in configuration, providing a ring-shaped stator and rotor portions. The rotor portions of the motors drive counter rotating fans which are electro-magnetically levitated. The structure is open to the fans so that air may be drawn into the structure and expelled downward providing vertical lift to the aircraft. By use of auxiliary air braking flaps and electrokinetic thrusters, the craft may be tilted so as to develop a desired horizontal thrust. By impulse breaking one of the fans through tracking solenoids at different points around the stator, the aircraft may be made to rotate about its own vertical axis for changing direction. By a series of sudden braking of the motors the craft may be made to move by inertial reaction.

Discoidal flying craft

A magnetically levitated transport system moves a suspended cargo such as passengers and freight. A linear motor uses a track stator about which a 'rotor' moves linearly. Stator and rotor circuits interact electromagnetically to maintain a gap between the moving and fixed elements. Tractor coils are embedded within the track to produce thrust through electromotor action with magnets aboard the rotor. The rotor is configured in a triangular shape as is the track with opposing electromagnets positioned for creating mutual repulsion forces. A pulsed direct current in the stator circuit, derived from conventional alternating current taken from the power grid, is used to create an induced current in the rotor, which, in turn is used to energize rotor electromagnets.

Magnetically levitated transport system

A rotating electromagnetic apparatus has a stator frame supporting spaced apart pairs of permanent magnets which are arranged with like magnetic poles mutually facing. A toroidally shaped rotor frame is radially wound with a plurality of wire coils immersed within slots in the in rotor frame, the slots positioned adjacent to the opposing magnets. An electromechanical commutator is used to direct current between an outside source or sink through brushes to rotating multiple contacts simultaneously. The brushes are triangular in cross section. The coils may be connected in series or parallel interconnection.

An electromagnetic apparatus has a rotating element acting as a transfer bridge between two active energetic suppliers, the rotating element providing a ferromagnetic core with plural solenoid coils having induced electric energy from external permanent magnets; the core transferring energy by induction to the inner stator's wound active permanent magnet, the energy collector and inductor acting as a generator.

An electromagnetic machine has a moving component, a stationary component, and a support component coupling the moving and stationary components in physical and electromagnetic proximity. The stationary component is a wound coil of insulated, electrically conductive tape defining a side face which has a plurality of spaced apart channels in it. The coil carries an electric current so that its opposite faces are north and south electromagnet pole faces and these pole faces are interrupted with spaced apart channels. The moving component is made up of a plurality of permanent magnets arranged in north-to-south pole alignment sequence and spaced apart. Non-magnetic pole surfaces of the magnets are positioned in close mutual proximity to the coil pole face. Electromotive forces are produced by electromagnetic interaction between the coil channels and the permanent magnet pole faces.

Electromagnetic machine with magnetic gap channels

A pair of stators produce a magnetic field within a space between them a ferromagnetic toroidal rotor is rotationally mounted within the magnetic field. A plurality of windings are wound radially on the rotor and each winding provides a plurality of coils. Each of coils is interconnected through a switch, the switch configured for placing each of the coils within each winding alternatively in one of an electrical series connection, an electrical parallel connection, and an electrically isolated connection, so that when operated as a generator, a selected output voltage and current are produced by rotor rotation and when operated as a motor a selected output speed and torque are produced.
