A holographic display apparatus and a hologram optimization method for the apparatus are provided. The holographic display apparatus includes a focus-forming optical element configured to form a plurality of foci by receiving plane waves; a collimating lens configured to propagate, as plane waves, light incident through the plurality of foci; and a spatial light modulator configured to generate a holographic image by overlapping a plurality of plane waves incident from the collimating lens.

Holographic display apparatus and hologram optimization method therefor

A hologram display device includes a light generator generating light, a spatial light modulator forming an interference pattern to interfere with the light, and a controller providing interference data to the spatial light modulator to form the interference pattern. The spatial light modulator includes a first area in which pixels are arranged in a first pattern, and a second area in which pixels are arranged in a second pattern. The controller includes a data generator generating first interference data for the first area and second interference data for the second area, a compensator generating first correction data based on the first interference data and second correction data by correcting the second interference data, and an output unit generating the interference data based on the first correction data and the second correction data.

Hologram display device and method of driving the same

Provided is a holographic display apparatus including: a spatial light modulator that modulates a wavefront of a reference beam to form a hologram image; an optical element arranged to change a position of a viewing window of the hologram image off-axis by a first angle; and an image processor that generates hologram data according to the position of the viewing window of the hologram image and a hologram image to be reproduced, and provides the hologram data to the spatial light modulator. The hologram image formed by the spatial light modulator is viewable from a side of the spatial light modulator.

Holographic display apparatus

An apparatus for manufacturing a hologram includes a holographic optical element on which a first interference pattern of a first signal beam and a first reference beam is recorded and a second interference pattern of a second signal beam modulated by a Fourier lens and a second reference beam is recorded. Also, an apparatus for reconstructing a hologram by using the holographic optical element is provided.
