A downhole tool having a mandrel and a slip. The mandrel has a mandrel body having a proximate end; a distal end; and an outer surface. The slip has a slip body; and an outer slip surface. The outer slip surface is configured with an insert bore, and an insert disposed therein. The insert has an outward most insert face that includes a hole.

The setting tool includes a setting tool housing; a tension mandrel; and a setting sleeve coupled with the setting tool housing. The downhole tool includes a slip having a slip body; an outer slip surface; an inner slip surface; and at least two slip segments adjoined by a first portion of slip material at a first slip end, and the two slip segments separated by a slip groove therebetween.

A downhole tool suitable for use in a wellbore, the tool comprising a hybrid sleeve in the form of a mandrel sleeve; and a sleeve insert disposed within the mandrel sleeve. The tool further includes a first slip disposed about the mandrel sleeve; and a second slip disposed about the mandrel sleeve and proximate to a conical surface. There is a lower sleeve proximate to the second slip. At least a portion of the sleeve insert is radially laterally proximate to a sealing element disposed around the mandrel.

The tool has a fingered member disposed around the mandrel, a fingered bearing plate disposed around the mandrel, and also a fingered lower sleeve disposed around and coupled to the mandrel. A method of using a downhole tool that includes the step of operating a workstring to run the downhole tool into a wellbore to a desired position. The downhole tool includes a mandrel having a proximate end with a first outer diameter; a distal end having a first set of threads and a second outer diameter; a flowbore extending from the proximate end to the distal end; and an inner set of shear threads disposed in the flowbore at the proximate end.

The mandrel further includes a mandrel end having a failure point defined by an inner groove and a failure point wall thickness may be in the range of about 0.03 inches to about 0.1 inches.
