An electronic device comprises a power supply device to generate a driving voltage and a standby voltage and a main body operated based on the driving voltage and the standby voltage received from the power supply device. The power supply device includes at least one converter to output at least one of the driving voltage and the standby voltage from an output end, a first capacitor connected to the at least one converter to store the driving voltage, a second capacitor connected to the at least one converter to store the standby voltage, and a discharge circuitry electrically connected with the first capacitor to discharge the driving voltage stored in the first capacitor.

The electronic apparatus including a power factor correction (PFC) circuit and a control circuit configured to control an operation of the PFC circuit is provided. The PFC circuit includes a first inductor part connected to one end of an AC voltage part and a first switch connected to a first inductor in series; a second inductor part connected to another end of the AC voltage part and a second switch connected to a second inductor in series; an output part connected to the first inductor part and the second inductor part; and a switching part, and the control circuit identically applies a switch on/off signal to the first switch and the second switch, and selectively applies a switch on/off signal to the third switch or the fourth switch based on a magnitude of an input voltage input through the AC voltage part.

An electronic device comprising: a power supply apparatus including a first converter configured to generate driving power and a second converter configured to generate first standby voltage and second standby voltage; and a main body operated based on the driving power and the second standby power received from the power supply apparatus. The second converter is configured to: during a normal mode operation and a standby mode operation, obtain the first standby voltage and adjust the first standby power based on the obtained standby power; and during the standby mode operation, obtain the second standby voltage; and in response to the obtained second standby voltage being equal to or less than a reference level, perform the normal mode operation to control the first standby voltage to be maintained at a first voltage level and control the second standby voltage to be maintained at a second voltage level.

Disclosed is a display apparatus including: a display; a transformer configured to boost an input alternating current (AC) first voltage and output a second voltage; a switch configured to allow an electric current to flow or stop in the transformer based on a control signal; a power factor correction (PFC) converter configured to correct a power factor of the output second voltage, and output a direct current (DC) third voltage to the display; and a controller configured to modulate a frequency of the control signal so that the second voltage has a target level, and increase or decrease the frequency of the control signal within a specified range to synchronize with an AC period of the first voltage.

An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus includes: a main circuit; and a power supply circuit configured to receive external power from an external power supply and supply operating power to the main circuit. The power supply circuit includes: a converter; and a lightning protection circuit that includes: a varistor configured to have a first rated voltage corresponding to a breakdown voltage of a device of the converter; and a surge arrester connected in series to the varistor and configured to have a second rated voltage, and based on the external power being higher than the first rated voltage of the varistor, the varistor is clamped so that a voltage applied to the converter does not exceed the first rated voltage, and based on a voltage applied to the surge arrester being equal to or higher than the second rated voltage, the surge arrester is short-circuited.

A power supply capable of protecting a rectifier circuit using a switching element from an overvoltage or an overcurrent is provided. The power supply includes a power input terminal; an output capacitor; a synchronous rectifier configured to rectify an AC voltage input through the power input terminal; a converter configured to convert the rectified AC voltage into a DC voltage following a preset voltage and supply the DC voltage to the output capacitor; and a protection circuit provided between the power input terminal and the output capacitor, and configured to supply an AC voltage higher than the voltage charged in the output capacitor to the output capacitor by bypassing the synchronous rectifier.
