An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes at least one display, at least one processor, and at least one memory. The at least one memory may store instructions to, when executed, enable the at least one processor to obtain, through a first display area of the at least one display activated while the at least one display is folded, an input to select a plurality of applications to be executed and displayed when the at least one display is unfolded, detect an unfolding of the at least one display, based on the detection of the unfolding, split a second display area of the at least one display activated while the at least one display is unfolded to correspond to a number of the plurality of applications, and execute the plurality of applications and display the plurality of applications on the split second display area.

Electronic device and method of controlling the same

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a sensor circuit, a display, a processor operationally connected to the sensor circuit and the display, and a memory operationally connected to the processor, wherein the processor may detect, via the sensor circuit, whether the electronic device is unfolded at a predetermined angle, detect a placement state of the electronic device via the sensor circuit when the electronic device is unfolded at the predetermined angle, when the detected placement state of the electronic device is a first state, control the electronic device to operate in a first operation mode corresponding to the first state, and when the detected placement state of the electronic device is a second state, control the electronic device to operate in a second operation mode corresponding to the second state.

Electronic device and method for controlling operation mode based on state of electronic device

In embodiments, an electronic device includes: a foldable housing that includes a hinge, a first housing connected to the hinge, the first housing having a first surface facing a first direction and a second surface facing a second direction opposite the first direction, and a second housing connected to the hinge and configured to be foldable with the first housing around the hinge, the second housing having a third surface facing a third direction and a fourth surface facing a fourth direction opposite the third direction. The first surface faces the third surface in a folded state, and the third direction is equal to the first direction in an unfolded state. The electronic device further includes a first display extending from the first surface to the third surface to define the first and third surfaces, a second display viewable through at least a part of the second or fourth surface, at least one sensor, a processor disposed in the first or second housing structure, and a memory operatively connected to the processor. The memory stores instructions which, when executed, cause the processor to control the electronic device to display a plurality of applications on the first display in the unfolded state, to select at least one of the plurality of applications, based on an input or priorities of the plurality of applications, based on the at least one sensor detecting that the foldable housing is changed from the unfolded state to the folded state, and to display the selected application on the second display.
