A wind turbine having a nacelle, a generator and a high voltage transformer which are connected to each other and are located inside the nacelle. The wind turbine is provided with a low voltage power supply source which is located remotely from the high voltage transformer and includes a low voltage transformer connected between the high voltage transformer and a power grid. The low voltage transformer is connected to the nacelle and provides it with low voltage power.

Auxiliary power supply for a wind turbine

A cradle or sling of banding strap material supports a wound magnetic core from an upper fixed support to at least partly relieve the weight of the core on the transformer winding and to permit the core to assume a more relaxed shape to reduce its internal stress and thus AW and TW core losses.

Support structure for wound transformer core

A padmounted transformer enclosure including a tank, terminal cover and sill which cooperatively define a composite structure having no pointed upper corners. The tank-terminal cover interface, and the terminal cover-sill interface, are both square, requiring no matching of curved surfaces.

Fluid-filled electrical apparatus suitable for use in harsh environments. The electrical apparatus includes a tank having bottom and side members whose configuration provides corrosion protection for the electrical apparatus. A plurality of radially spaced, annular shoulders in the bottom member, with flanges therebetween, define a configuration wherein the innermost circular-shaped portion of the bottom member fits with the cylindrical side member with the lower edge of the side member disposed in proximity to one of the flanges in the bottom member to form a joint suitable for welding. The outwardmost flange of the bottom member extends downward from the joint and beyond the side member to provide an edge or rim upon which the entire tank rests and, further, presents sacrificial metal to the environment which protects the joint despite corrosion of the outermost flange.
