A curable polymeric composition is herein disclosed. According to one embodiment, a curable polymeric composition comprises a thermoplastic block copolymer containing at least two polymer blocks A separated by at least one polymer block B. Each polymer block A is primarily a poly(monovinyl aromatic hydrocarbon) block, and polymer block B includes hydrogenated conjugated didne. The solid curable polymeric composition further comprises a curable functional compound compatible with polymer block A. The solid curable polymeric composition optionally comprises an initiator, a plasticizer, an antioxidant; a tackifyer and an aromatic resin.

The present invention concerns a bituminous composition which comprises a bituminous component (I), a block copolymer (II), comprising at least two terminal blocks of a poly(monovinylaromatic hydrocarbon) and at least one block of a poly(conjugated diene), and optionally a filler (III), wherein (II) is a partially hydrogenated block polymer, comprising butadiene as the conjugated diene, wherein the poly(conjugated diene) block upon partial hydrogenation comprises less than 3 mol % 1,2-dine recurring units (A) and less than 20 mol % preferably less than 3 mol % ethylene recurring units (D), calculated on the total content mol/mol of conjugated diene recurring units.

Bituminous composition with reduced gelation tendency

The present invention provides a bituminous composition which comprises a bitumen component, less than 15% by weight of a block copolymer composition, based on total weight of block copolymer composition and bitumen component, and more than 40% by weight of a filler, based on total weight of block copolymer, bitumen component and filler, which block copolymer composition comprises at least one block of a conjugated diene and at least two blocks of a monovinylaromatic hydrocarbon, wherein the block copolymer composition has a vinyl content of at least 25% by weight based on the total diene content and optionally a diblock content of 25 wt % or less, and any diblock copolymer present has an apparent molecular weight which is in the range of from 60,000 to 170,000. The bituminous composition can be used in sound or vibration damping applications and/or in a backing layer for comprising a floor covering.
