A stereoscopic image display device includes: a display unit including a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix format, the pixels including left-eye and right-eye pixels alternately arranged in one direction; a memory including a left-eye image area for storing left-eye image data corresponding to the left-eye pixels and a right-eye image area for storing right-eye image data corresponding to the right-eye pixels; an address comparator for the respectively storing the left-eye and right-eye image data at corresponding addresses of the left-eye and right-eye image areas and making an arrangement of the left-eye and right-eye image areas in the memory in response to a first signal; a data synthesizer for synthesizing a stereoscopic image signal from the data stored in the memory; and a data driver for applying a data signal corresponding to a stereoscopic image signal to the display unit.

Stereoscopic image display device

A stereoscopic image display device for displaying a three dimensional (3D) stereoscopic image in real-time by using a 3D graphic contained within a 2D image. The stereoscopic image display device includes a controller, a 3D graphic processor, a driver, and a display unit. The controller receives 3D graphic data and a synchronization signal, and outputs a control signal and the 3D graphic data. The 3D graphic processor generates a plurality of stereoscopic matrices used to generate 3D stereoscopic image data for a plurality of viewing points according to the control signal, and transforms the 3D graphic data into 3D stereoscopic image data using the plurality of stereoscopic matrices. The driver generates a driving signal based on the image data output from the 3D graphic processor and the output control signal. The display unit displays an image corresponding to the image data according to the driving signal.

A stereoscopic image display device includes a display panel including a plurality of left eye pixels and a plurality of right eye pixels, a memory including a left eye image section for storing data corresponding to the left eye pixels and a right eye image section for storing data corresponding to the right eye pixels, a geometric engine for converting an input 3D image data into left eye 3D image data corresponding to the left eye pixels or right eye 3D image data corresponding to the right eye pixels, and a rendering engine for calculating a coordinate value and a color information value to be stored in the left eye section or the right eye section by using coordinate and color information of the left eye 3D image data or the right eye 3D image data, and for storing the color information value in the memory based on the coordinate value.
