An assembly for aligning a component, comprising an alignment guide positioned on a first device and at least one attachment point on the first device. The component is included in a second device, and the component is aligned by the alignment guide as the second device is attached to the first device. A flexible portion of material can be attached to the component and positioned over the mounting structures. The alignment guides retain the flexible portion of material with respect to the mounting structures as the second device is attached to the first device, thereby aligning the component in three dimensions.

Media storage system and method for identifying storage locations therein. One embodiment of the media storage system may comprise at least one storage library having a storage area therein. At least one access panel operatively associated with the at least one storage library, the at least one access panel opening to provide access to the storage area in the at least one storage library. A picker assembly mounted in the at least one storage library having at least one indicator mounted to the picker assembly. The at least one indicator identifying the at least one access panel when the at least one access panel is ready to open.

Media storage system and method for identifying a storage location therein

Inventory control devices and methods for controlling the inventory of a data storage system are disclosed. In one embodiment, the inventory control device comprises a sensor to sense a position of an access device of a data storage system, the access device having an open position and a closed position, a circuit communicatively coupled to the sensor to output a circuit state indicating if the access device was opened while the data storage system was shut down, and control logic communicatively coupled to the circuit to cause the data storage system to inventory one or more storage locations associated with the access device only if the circuit state indicates the access device was opened.

A circuit for sensing the presence of an inductive load that is particularly applicable to sensing when a solenoid is being driven by a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal. The circuit includes a high side connected transistor having an output driving a load, with the transistor driven by a PWM signal. A circulating diode is coupled to the driving output of the transistor. The circuit further comprises an operational amplifier (op amp) circuit that is coupled to the circulating diode and operates as an inverting operational amplifier (op amp). The op amp circuit charges a first capacitor when the transistor releases driving an inductive load.

An electrical system for measuring humidity which is capable of measurements accurate to &plus;/&minus;6 percent from board to board. The accuracy provided by this electrical system makes it possible to correlate errors in data on backup magnetic tapes to variations in humidity. The electrical system consists of an oscillator whose frequency is dependent on the capacitance of a capacitor used in the circuit. The capacitance value of the capacitor is dependent on the relative humidity. The frequency of the oscillator is translated to a humidity value by an electronic counter and a microprocessor.
