A combined liquid flow tube alignment and liquid sensing system includes flow tube mounting and alignment hardware including a clip for fastening the hardware to a substrate; and a sensor for sensing integrated with the liquid flow tube mounting and alignment hardware, wherein fluid flowing through a flow tube mounted and aligned by the flow tube The flow tube mounting and alignment hardware includes a clip with internal periphery edges sized to match the external periphery edges of at least one sensing element associated with the sensor. At least two posts located at outer members of the clip above and below the tube. Posts are sized to be located ideally within a system to position and retain the outer diameter of liquid flow tube with respect to internal periphery edges of the clip and subsequently, the sensing element both horizontally and vertically. A center flexing member associated with the clip. A slot to accurately position/retain and apply a controlled force to an area of the tube located at the center of the sensing element.

Alignment device for positioning liquid flow tube

A disposable fluid flow sensor is disclosed herein, which generally includes a flow channel assembly comprising a flow channel tube in association with a disposable flow channel portion. A sensor die is located approximate to a thin interface or membrane formed from the disposable flow channel portion, such that the sensor die measures a flow of fluid flowing through the flow channel tube and the disposable flow channel portion of the flow channel assembly. Additionally, a substrate can be provided upon which the sensor die is formed and located. A seal can also be provided for sealing the disposable flow channel portion to the flow channel tube. Such a flow sensor can be implemented in the context of a 'non-isolated' sensor die approach in which the sensor die, substrate and flow tube are assembled together into a complete disposable assembly, in which a thin interface does not cover the sensor die. The flow sensor can also be implemented in the context of an 'isolated' sensor die approach in which a thin membrane material or thin interface prevents the fluid from touching the surface of the sensor die. In such an &#x201c;isolated&#x201d; configuration, the sensor die is not actually part of the disposable flow tube assembly. The only disposable portion in this approach is the flow tube itself.

Disposable fluid flow sensor

A commutator assembly has a bracket for the placement and protection of Hall element sensors such as may be used for an electrical commutator assembly or other position locating device. The bracket features a surface containing encasements for each Hall element. The encasements have features for locating the Hall within the encasement by the center lead of each Hall element sensor, each Hall element sensor being spaced from one another at a predetermined distance according to said center lead locating features and being substantially surrounded by said encasement except for the forward surface of said Hall case. The bracket may further include a printed circuit board for electrical connections and an optical encoder assembly for supplementary position information.

Commutator assembly apparatus for hall sensor devices

On a railroad car handbrake system the main handbrake shaft, used to turn the chain, is utilized during its rotation to drive a target object to a magnetic sensor. The target object may be driven by cam plates, gears, screw mechanisms or the like and may be a magnetic or ferromagnetic object. The sensor system disclosed is rugged and easily adapted to existing handbrake systems.

A turbidity sensor is provided in which a light source, a first photosensitive device and a second photosensitive device are arranged in a manner that permits easy removal and replacement of a cover which is used to protect the components. The cover is attachable to a support structure. The light source, which can be a light emitting diode, is attached to the support structure. The first and second photosensitive devices are also attached to the support structure. Light scattered by particulates in a fluid are directed toward the support structure and received by the second photosensitive device. Light which passes through a detection zone and is not scattered by the particular matter in the monitored fluid passes to a first photosensitive device. Many different types and shapes of covers can be used in conjunction with a single style support structure. This flexibility simplifies the manufacture of the turbidity sensors and reduces the costs that would otherwise be incurred if individual support structures were necessary for each different style of cover.

A plurality of fluid condition sensors are combined together to provide a sensor cluster that senses turbidity, temperature, conductivity and the movement of a ferromagnetic object. The plurality of sensors are attached to a substrate and encapsulated, by an overmolding process, with a light transmissive and fluid impermeable material. The sensor cluster can be disposed at numerous different locations within a body of fluid and does not require a conduit to direct the fluid to a particular location proximate the sensor. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a circuit is provided which monitors the signal strength of first and second light sensitive components to determine turbidity and, in addition, those signal strengths are also used to advantageously determine the most efficient magnitude of current necessary to drive a light source, such as a light emitting diode. By controlling the current to a light emitting diode as a function of the strength of light signal received by first and second light sensitive components, the turbidity sensor can be operated at a more efficient and effect level.
