Stump cutter tooth

A stump cutter tooth assembly includes a stump cutter tooth held by a pocket member that includes an arcuate shoulder having one or more tabs. A stump cutter tooth is adapted to be mounted on the pocket member. The stump cutter tooth includes a tooth body having one or more recesses and an arcuate outer surface. The arcuate outer surface of the stump cutter tooth is adapted to abut against the arcuate shoulder of the pocket member to prevent unwanted movement of the stump cutter tooth relative to the pocket member during the cutting operation. The one or more recesses of the stump cutter tooth cooperate with the one or more tabs of the pocket member to provide an anti-rotation and locating feature.

A grinding tool for impinging a material includes a tool body having a top surface and a bottom surface, the tool body defining a pocket at a leading edge of the top surface and the pocket having a mounting surface. The grinding tool also includes a plurality of inserts mounted on the mounting surface of the pocket of the tool body, wherein each of the plurality of inserts includes a base mounting surface adjacent the mounting surface of the pocket of the tool body, a main cutting face generally opposite the base mounting surface, and a leading face positioned adjacent the leading edge of the top surface of the tool body. The leading face terminates in a protective base flange that is structured and arranged to substantially cover the mounting surface of the pocket of the tool body adjacent the leading edge of the tool body.

A grader blade includes a grader blade body that has a recess in a bottom edge, and a tri-grade insert assembly is received within the recess. The tri-grade insert assembly includes a leading insert, a mediate insert and a trailing insert. The leading insert has an impact wear resistance and fracture wear resistance greater than the mediate insert and the trailing insert. The trailing insert has an abrasion wear resistance and down-pressure wear resistance greater than the leading insert and the mediate insert. The mediate insert has an impact wear resistance and fracture wear resistance greater than the trailing insert and an abrasion wear resistance and down-pressure wear resistance greater than the leading insert.

A cutting tool assembly having a holder block mounting scheme which effectively and accurately positions the cutting tip point at its designed angle of attack. The connection assembly limits undesirable shifting during attachment of the holder block to a cutting drum. The holder block connection assembly of the present invention includes a separate mounting plate that is positioned between the bit holder block and drum/pedestal for accurately aligning the bit holder block onto to the drum/pedestal. Once the bit holder block is aligned into position by the plate as designed the bit holder block is welded to the drum/pedestal.
