Provided is glass with high temperature stability, a low coefficient of thermal expansion and a high mechanical strength, a light guide plate including the glass to replace the conventional PMMA and metal frame, and fabricating methods thereof. The glass according to the present disclosure is borosilicate glass containing 75&#x2dc;85 wt % of SiO, 5&#x2dc;15 wt % of BO, 0&#x2dc;5 wt % of AlO, RO 1&#x2dc;7 wt % where R is at least one of Li, Na and K, and &#x3c;0.005 wt % of FeOand having the redox ratio 0.5 or more. This glass maintains luminance and has an excellent color difference reduction effect when used in a light guide plate.

Borosilicate glass, light guide plate comprising the same and fabricating methods thereof

A glass light-guide plate having a small color difference and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The light-guide plate includes glass containing 70 to 85 wt % of SiO, 5 to 20 wt % of BO, 0 to 5 wt % of AlO, 1 to 7 wt % of RO (here, R is at least one of Li, Na, and K), 0 to 0.005 wt % of FeO, and less than 0.002 wt % of a transition metal oxide for adjusting a color difference.

Glass light-guide plate and manufacturing method thereof

A method for forming a lubricant layer on the surface of a glass and a method for manufacturing a glass using the same prevents scratches from occurring at the surface of a glass and decreases corrosion of glass manufacturing equipment. The method for manufacturing a glass includes forming a glass, supplying SOgas and a SOgas oxidation catalyst to the glass under an oxidation environment to form a lubricant layer at the lower surface of the glass, and annealing the glass.

The present invention provides the composition of an alkali-free glass composition containing no alkali metal oxide and the preparation thereof. The alkali-free glass comprising substantially no alkali metal oxide according to the present invention comprises 61 to 73 wt % of SiO; 0.5 to 3.9 wt % of BO; 3.5 to 13.5 wt % of AlO; 9 to 13 wt % of MgO; 1 to 8 wt % of CaO; and 4 to 10 wt % of SrO, based on the total weight of oxides present therein.

Alkali-free glass and preparation thereof

The present invention provides the composition of an alkali-free glass composition containing no alkali metal oxide and the preparation thereof. The alkali-free glass comprising substantially no alkali metal oxide according to the present invention comprises 68 to 75 wt % of SiO; 1 to 3 wt % of BO; 4 to 13 wt % of AlO; 1 to 6 wt % of MgO; 1 to 11 wt % of CaO; 4 to 9 wt % of SrO; and 3 to 7 wt % of BaO, based on the total weight of oxides present therein.
