A light system comprising: a lens comprising: body portion and a waterfall portion that extends at an angle relative to the body portion so that the waterfall portion is exposed when the light system is installed in a vehicle, wherein the lens comprises a material of a first deposition and a material of a second deposition and the material of the first deposition exhibits one or more different characteristics than the material of the second deposition; a display mechanism located adjacent to the body portion, the waterfall portion, or both; and one or more light sources that direct light through the display mechanism and the lens so that when the one or more light sources are illuminated the display mechanism is visible through the lens.

The present invention pertains to a lighting apparatus. The lighting apparatus includes a heatsink positioned within a housing, the heatsink encompasses plurality of modules to accommodate light sources and plurality of pivots provided on at least a plurality of edges of the heatsink, and a plurality of actuators positioned in the housing, with each of the plurality of actuators engaging with one of the plurality of pivots. The inventive concept further includes a headlamp for an automotive vehicle. The headlamp comprising a housing, at least one light source, and the lighting apparatus.

Headlamp for a vehicle

A light system including a lens, a reflector, and a light source. The lens has body portion and a waterfall portion that extends at an angle relative to the body portion so that the waterfall portion is exposed when the light system is installed in a vehicle. The reflector is located adjacent to the lens. The light source is located adjacent to the lens that is configured to provide light to the reflector so that the reflector reflects the light through the waterfall portion so that the waterfall portion is illuminated.

A light system comprising: (a) one or more bezels; (b) an internal lens located within and in communication with the one or more bezels, wherein the internal lens has a height; and (c) a light source that directs light from the light system to a location outside of a vehicle that is configured to house the light system, wherein some of the light is directed to the location outside of the vehicle directly through the internal lens; wherein the one or more bezels include a reflector surface located outside of the height of the internal lens and some of the light from the light source is redirected by the internal lens to the reflector surface of the one or more bezels so that the light is redirected outside of the height of the internal lens to the location outside of the vehicle.

Low profile light with an oversized light emission

A light system including: (a) a first light region configured to provide a first light function; (b) a second light region configured to provide a second light function that is different from the first light function; (c) a blocker located between the first light region and the second light region so that when the first light function is activated, light from the first light region is prevented from passing to the second light region by the blocker and when the second light function is activated, light from the second light region is prevented from passing to the first light region by the blocker; (d) a textured surface in the first light region, the second light region, or both; and (e) a texture shutoff located between the textured surface in the first light region, the second light region, or both and located between the textured surface and the blocker so that the texture surface prevents material of the first light region, the second light region, the blocker, or a combination thereof from forming flash on an outside of the light system; wherein the blocker prevents light from only extending through the texture shutoff; and wherein the first light function and the second light function provide the light to a location around a vehicle that comprises the light system.
