A method is described for brightening tattoos or pigmented images formed below the epidermis of an individual. A skin treating device having a treatment tip with a crystalline abrasive material permanently bonded thereto is moved across the skin surface covering the tattoo. The procedure results in the bonded crystalline abrasive material removing a portion of the surface of the epidermis of the skin area over said tattoos or pigmented images, resulting in a brightening of colored or black line tattoos and a sharpening of the lines in the image. Simultaneously applying a vacuum to the skin surface during the procedure and the application of skin serum during or after the procedure enhances the results.

Tattoo enhancement procedure

A fastener system for placing screws into bone or tissue structure during a medical procedure is disclosed. The fastener system comprises a drive shaft and driver tip that securely and removeably interlocks with the fastener head and drives the fastener into the surgical site, then disengages the fastener and withdraws. The fastener system comprises a multi-chamber cartridge, which can be either reloadable or a pre-loaded disposable one-use unit. Each chamber holds a fastener using one or more of several alignment systems. Example of alignment systems are cantilevers with springs, spring-clips, or molded features within the chamber to hold the fastener in place until the driver tip engages the fastener head. The fastener head also can latch onto the driver tip. As an example, the fastener head can have hooks that lock into a ridge on the driver, and disengage when the driver tip withdraws.

A method of placing screws into bone or tissue structure during a medical procedure uses a power driven screw driver, a fastener carrier with a series of fasteners temporarily attached thereto and an elongated band structure carried by the fastener carrier system for positioning and advancing the individual fasteners of the series of medical fasteners in a controlled manner to a position to receive a driving tip on the powered screw driver. Activating a trigger mechanism causes the tip of the screw driver to extend and interlock with the head of the fastener temporarily held in the band, removing the fastener from the band, rotating the driver tip and fastener for driving the fastener into a tissue or bone structure, and releasing the trigger following positioning of the fastener in the bone or tissue disconnects the screw driver tip from the fastener head, retracts the screw driver tip from the band and causes the fastener carrier system to advance forward to position a subsequent fastener in a location for grasping by the screw driver tip.

A surgical procedure is disclosed utilizing a cordless surgical handpiece powered from a sterile battery pack that contains a battery in condition for immediate use without further charging or sterilization. The battery chemistry is based upon lithium/manganese dioxide, and the battery after a single use may be disposed of into non-hazardous waste. The compact surgical handpiece has a brushless DC motor and a manually operated external trigger for activating and controlling the motor operations. Interengaging sets of contacts on the handpiece and battery are adapted to become lockingly and conductively interengaged upon rotation of the battery pack relative to the handpiece, in a manner that rapidly achieves correct alignment of the parts and also ensures stable mechanical attachment and support during the surgical procedure.

An improved personal body grounding system includes a grounding pad having two or more ground leads conductively coupled to one or more grounded anchors having multiple ground contact points. A monitor tests the continuity to ground using the circuit created by the multiple ground contact points. The monitor includes multiple safety features in the event of a power surge. The system also includes an electrical meter to measure the personal body voltage of a user and a voltage gauge for measuring continuity to ground.

A device for rapidly testing a battery includes a conditioning resistor and a depressible momentary type switch interposed in series between the conditioning resistor and the battery terminals, such that the closing of the switch allows current flow through the conditioning resistor in approximately the full amount the battery can generate when fully charged. In parallel with the conditioning resistor are a number of sets of voltage dividers and comparators working in conjunction with each other to compare a divided down battery voltage with a fixed voltage reference. Each comparator has an associated indicator light such that all the indicator lights will light up if the battery is at full capacity, but less than all the indicator lights will light up if the battery is at less than full capacity.

A simple trailer frame is provided which may be included within a structure and which allows the frame or the structure to be easily and quickly converted into a mobile trailer on retractable wheel assemblies. When the frame is used within a structure, once the structure is at its use site it need show very little evidence that it was a trailer. Also included in the frame is a towing member receiving member for quick and easy attachment and detachment of a towing member to the frame. A mechanical linkage is provided within the frame so that proper connection of the towing member to the frame locks the extended wheel assemblies in place. Towing is only possible when wheels are properly extended and locked. As a safety precaution, the design may also include a provision so that the locking mechanism cannot be deactivated unless the weight of the frame has been removed from the wheel assemblies. Self-contained lifting and lowering components such as jacks, may also be included as an integral part of the frame or the structure.

A large flat exhibition platform of stair-step height (71/2 inches) and convertible to a highway trailer has jacking apparatus, wheels, wheel suspension apparatus and a trailer towing member retractably concealed therein and includes an energy source, hydraulic or pneumatic motor devices and motor controls, also concealed within the platform, to provide jacking to raise and lower the platform relative to a ground surface and to move the wheel suspension apparatus between roadable and retracted wheel positions without the need for any extra tools or equipment. Safety interlocks warn the operator or prevent trailering operation when the wheels are not fully extended to their roadable positions or when the towing member is not fully extended to its towing position. A fully sealed deep-cycle battery provides power for motor-driven hydraulic pumps for hydraulic motors. The platform frame has primary structural components made from large steel tubing which has sealed portions thereof forming reservoirs for compressed gas for operating the pneumatic motors.

Details of wheel assemblies, light assemblies and other trailer components which are quickly and easily removably attached to the trailer system or frame by a single individual without the need for tools are provided. Self-contained lifting and lowering components, such as jacks, may also be included as an integral part of the frame or the structure.
