A tissue sample processing system and associated methods is disclosed and described. The tissue sample processing system () can include a microfluidic separating system (). The microfluidic separating system () can include a fluid channel to receive a carrier fluid () and a tissue sample (), and a plurality of outlets. Flow of the carrier fluid () and the tissue sample () in the fluid channel can facilitate segregation of materials in the tissue sample () based on size into a plurality of size fractions, such that each one of the plurality of outlets receives a different size fraction of the materials in the tissue sample. In addition, the sample processing system () can comprise a cryopreservation system () associated with at least one of the plurality of outlets to freeze the material in the tissue sample () associated with the at least one of the plurality of outlets.

Tissue sample processing system and associated methods

A method for separating and enriching sperm from a tissue sample comprises: obtaining a microfluidic separating system having an inlet end and an outlet end, and a membrane filter (e.g., hollow fiber membrane filter) fluidly connected to the outlet end; separating the tissue sample via the microfluidic separating system into a debris fluid volume and a sperm fluid volume; and enriching the sperm fluid volume by removing excess media via the membrane filter. A two-stage tissue sample separation system comprising: a microchannel structure defining a separation fluid channel to form a separation stage; an inlet end of the microchannel structure; an outlet end of the microchannel structure; and a membrane filter fluidly connected to the outlet end for removal of at least a portion of excess media in the tissue sample.

Microfluidic system for sperm separation and enrichment from various types of sperm samples

Methods are provided of identifying a male fertility condition in a subject. Methods of performing a fertility treatment and an in vitro fertilization procedure are also provided. The methods may comprise determining the DNA methylation pattern of DNA extracted from a semen sample of a subject.

Methods of identifying male fertility status and embryo quality

The present invention provides methods, devices, and kits for separating and selecting top sperm from a sperm sample of a subject. In one aspect, for example, such a method can include removing a portion of negatively charged protein from sperm in the sperm sample, immobilizing the sperm, electrophoretically separating the sperm, and selecting mature sperm based on electromotility properties.

Sperm separation devices and associated methods

A method of controlling, in a warm-blooded animal, an infectious microorganism expressing a chorionic gonadotropin-like growth-regulating protein comprises modulating the activity of the protein by administering to the warm-blooded animal an effective amount of an antibody capable of inhibiting the activity of the protein, the chorionic gonadotropin-like growth-regulating protein itself such that the animal develops a neutralizing immune response, or peptides that block the receptors of the chorionic gonadotropin-like growth-regulating protein in the infectious microorganism. Candida albicans is one such microorganism that can be controlled by delivering an antibody against the growth-regulating protein, CaCGLP. Mycobacteria can also be controlled by this method. A method of inhibiting transition of Candida albicans blastospores in vitro by contacting the blastospores with an antibody against CaCGLP is also disclosed. A method of inhibiting growth of mycobacteria in vitro comprises contacting the mycobacteria with an antibody against an endogenous chorionic gonadotropin-like growth-regulating protein. In vitro growth of microorganisms can also be stimulated by contacting the microorganism with a chorionic gonadotropin-like growth-regulating protein.
