Systems and methods provide for automatically generating a data model of a data center. Inventory data identifying devices in the data center is obtained by querying the devices and/or extracting the data from existing data sources. In addition, switch-to-switch data regarding the linking relationships among switches is obtained by querying the switches in the data center using a discovery protocol. Further, switch-to-server relationship data regarding the linking relationships between switches and servers is obtained at least in part by querying switches in the data center for MAC table data to identify the MAC addresses of servers connected to the switches. The inventory data, switch-to-switch relationship data, and switch-to-server relationship data is persisted to the data model of the data center, thereby providing information identifying devices within the data center and the dependencies and relationships among the devices.

Systems and methods provide for the preemptive determination of the potential of atypical clinical event occurrence related to administering of medications to a person. One method involves receiving a list of possible medications that may be administered to the person during a medical procedure. Subsequently, the medication list is compared to information in the person's medical record. Based on this comparison, a determination is made as to whether one or more matches exist between any of the medications included in the list and the medical record information, the match relating to the potential of an atypical clinical event occurring if the associated medication were to be administered to the person. If a match in fact exists, a response is outputted relating to each match.

Systems and methods are presented for retrieving records from a database and presenting them to a user through a timely and efficient query restricting process. The query request is then modified through the use of a determined partitioning field and a modified query which partitions the field relative to a partitioning value. Records are retrieved from the database. A small set of records is presented to the user, as is a prompt to retrieve more records. An application which receives query requests determines: restricting fields, partition size and whether or not the partition is within a predetermined range. The application returns a data set and receives requests for more records. These systems and methods provide a storage efficient solution that is particularly useful for maintaining a time efficient user response for a dynamic database.

A method for use in a computer system is provided that links a patient with patient-related data that is displayed on a graphical user interface. The method includes first determining if a digital watermark is required. If a digital watermark is required, the current background color for the display of patient-related data is obtained, along with an intensity value. The subject matter for the watermark is also obtained. The color of the digital watermark is calculated, based upon the obtained background color and intensity value. The digital watermark is then rendered on the display.
