Evaluating computers, devices, or endpoints on a network, such as a large network of computers in an enterprise environment. Detecting computers, devices, or endpoints that may present a security risk to the network or may be compromised in some way. Generating network traffic that, in some cases, should be ignored or should prompt specific, known responses. Detecting endpoint(s) that respond to such network traffic in an anomalous way, or otherwise attempt to perform certain operations based on such network traffic.

The innovation disclosed and claimed herein, in one aspect thereof, comprises systems and methods of reconfiguring network settings. The systems and methods monitor a network and detect a hacker on a network. The systems and methods can reconfigure network settings of the network upon detecting the hacker. The systems and methods can analyze the hack for severity; and determine a reconfiguration layer based on the severity of the hack. The reconfiguration layer determines a subset of the network settings to be reconfigured. The systems and methods can dismantle the network and generate a replacement network having the reconfigured set of network settings and replace the network with the replacement network.

Systems and methods for device-agnostic, multi-factor network authentication are disclosed. In some embodiments, a wireless network connection can authenticate a device over secure authentication means with a certificate that confirms a device identity. After authenticating the device, a user can be prompted to provide credentials in a captive portal. The captive portal can be inaccessible to devices that have not already authenticated using a certificate. After providing approved credentials to the captive portal, the user can access the network. This embodiment and additional embodiments are readily integrated into private wireless networks and others.

Systems and methods that employ dynamic credentials across distinct authentication standards can be used to reduce the burden associated with repeated re-authentication. A utility can be employed during logon in an alternate operating environment that stores information from the logon dynamically and generates a credential file that is employed to grant access to a resource without repeating the earlier logon procedure, even if the device changes its user state. After processes requiring resource access are complete, or when an allowed time expires, the granted access is revoked and the device returns to a default or standard authentication technique.
