A tubular type ozone generator with inner and outer concentric electrodes and a middle dielectric member. One end is sealed to permit feed gas traversing the inner gap between the inner electrode and the dielectric member to reverse direction and to traverse the outer gap between the dielectric member and the outer electrode. A method for producing ozone using a tubular type ozone generator where first the total feed gas is passed in one direction between an electrode and the dielectric member for producing ozone, reversed, and then passed in the reverse direction between the dielectric member and the other electrode producing additional ozone. A hollow inner electrode permits more efficient cooling of the inner electrode. A plurality of ozone generators are combined with intake and output manifolds for the feed gas and produced ozone.

A roller sponge mop sponge retainer having a channel shaped sponge retainer adapted to hold a roll mop sponge; the retainer having an elongated top and side walls extending downwardly from the top; the top being uniformly wide with a longitudinal center line; the top having a central section hook catch terminating in first end edges lateral to the top; the top between each first end edge of the central section and an adjacent second edge having a lateral depressed concave portion vertically lower than the adjacent central section first end edge and defining a vertical opening into which a free end of an operating rod hook can be inserted; and a groove in the top extending longitudinally outwardly from a second edge for receiving and guiding an operating rod hook free end beneath the central section and above the two depressed concave portions.

An implement having a working head with a threaded socket; a metal tubular handle; a connector joining the handle to the head; the connector having a generally cylindrical body with a threaded portion at one end threadably inserted into the socket in the head; a fluted portion at the other end of the body, with the flutes being located axially of the body and spaced apart from adjacent flutes; the fluted portion being forced into the end of the handle with a tight friction fit so that other fastening means is not required; and a stop between the fluted portion and the threaded portion limiting the distance which the fluted portion can be forced into the end of the tubular handle.

A roller sponge mop sponge retainer comprising an elongated channel shaped sponge retainer adapted to receive and securely hold a roll mop sponge; the retainer having a top and two spaced apart side walls extending downwardly from the top; the elongated retainer top having a central section hook catch terminating in end edges lateral to the top; the retainer top adjacent each end edge of the central section comprising a depressed portion having an end edge vertically lower than the adjacent central section end edge; each pair of adjacent central section end and depressed portion end edges defining an opening into which an operating rod hook can be operatively inserted; each depressed portion having a raised element; the raised elements being spaced apart a distance slightly greater than the length of the rod hook adapted to be longitudinally positioned beneath the central section hook catch; and the raised elements restricting longitudinal movement of the hook relative to the retainer central section hook catch.

A mop head of polymeric material having a hood, to be placed on a handle end, and a bendable mop retaining bar, integrally joined at one end to an end of the hood and having a flexible finger at the other end. The finger terminates in an enlarged portion which releasably engages the hood through an opening in the hood to lock the bar in place and thereby secure the mop on the mop head.

This disclosure relates to a sponge mop refill assembly designed for use with different mop head designs. The assembly includes a sponge, a pair of backing plates secured to one side of the sponge, and an adapter for each backing plate. Sponge mop heads include a squeeze plate that extends across the upper side of the sponge and is removably attached to the two backing plates on the sponge. In one mop head design, the squeeze plate and the backing plates include mating slot and flange parts for connecting the backing plates directly to the squeeze plate. In another mop head design, the connecting part on the squeeze plate is recessed and therefore not directly accessible to the mating part on the backing plate, and in this instance the adapters are positioned between and interconnect the squeeze plate with the backing plates. In still another mop head design, screw holes are formed through the squeeze plate, and the assembly may further include screws and nuts for connecting the backing plates to the squeeze plate.

A sponge mop with wing sections which rotate together to fold a sponge against itself and apply pressure to expel water from the sponge. Slidable movement of a pressure applying member against the wing sections causes them to rotate together. After pressure is released, the wing sections return to a horizontal position with the sponge ready for mopping.
