The invention provides components, structures, methods, and assemblies for controlling sedimentation and debris flow associated with soil erosion. The invention also provides components, structures, methods, and assemblies that are useful for anchoring fiber rolls along a sloped surface.

Apparatuses and methods for fiber rolls

The invention provides systems, associated component parts, and assemblies of the pre-filtration systems, that are useful for treating storm water entering underground storm water management systems. The invention further provides methods to pre-filter storm water prior to entering underground water management systems. An apparatus and method for use in conjunction with grassy swales to collect and filter or otherwise treat dirty or polluted storm water runoff or other fluid is disclosed. The swale overflow screen device is used in connection with a catch basin. One or more swale overflow screen devices are installed within a bioretention swale, such that during periods of routine flow, at least a portion of storm water runoff or other passing fluids can enter the swale overflow screen device, through the catch basin, and be released to a drainage system.

The invention provides structures, methods, and assemblies for processing fluid entering a treatment area. The invention also provides methods, apparatuses, and additional structures that are useful for managing storm water flow and inhibiting the flow of pollutants, debris, and other contaminants into drainage systems. One or more flow diverter pans are installed at one or more inlets of a treatment area, such as a bioretention treatment area or a storm water retention and detention system. The apparatus comprises a structural framework that can include a pan placed adjacent to an inlet of the treatment area, and internal walls extending upward from the floor of the pan and at least partially framing a bypass opening adjacent to the floor. Inlet and outlet openings of the pan define a primary flow route for fluid passing through the pan and to the surface of the treatment area. Inlet and bypass openings of the pan comprise a secondary flow route for fluid passing through the tray.

The invention provides structures, methods, and assemblies for incorporating fixtures and appliances, such as a tree, street lamp, or light pole, into a bioretention system. An improved trench drain filter and modular system therefor for intercepting and treating run off water in a trench drain before discharge into a drainage system. The filter elements include a perforated pipe covered with one or more layers of geotextile material, which is, in turn, covered with a permeable fabric membrane. In a preferred embodiment a pouch containing an absorbent agent is disposed within the pipe upstream of the discharge point, and in another embodiment a multi-filter modular unit is provided, the unit including a plurality of filter elements disposed in an enclosure having fluid flow control baffles to direct fluid to and through the filter elements.

One or more prefilters are installed at one or more inlets to a grassy swale or a sidewalk cross drain, such that at least a portion of any storm water runoff or other passing fluids are at least partially filtered or otherwise treated to some extent before entering the grassy swale. The prefilters comprise an inlet adapted to deliver fluid therethrough; an outlet adapted to deliver fluid therethrough, one or more structural elements connecting to inlet to the outlet, and one or more filtration elements attached to at least one of the structural elements.
