A breathable barrier fabric that is heat sealable and minimizes lint generation without impacting the fabric's overall breathability, comfort and barrier protection, and that can be used to manufacture Helmke Category II or better cleanroom garments suitable for use in ISO Class 3 cleanroom environments and other hygienic applications. The breathable barrier fabric has a composite laminate structure including an inner monolithic film layer made from a breathable polymer bonded to first and second outer spunbond layers comprising thermoplastic bicomponent fibers each having an outer glazed surface where the thermoplastic bicomponent fibers are at least partially flattened.

Breathable cleanroom barrier fabric

A wall covering, a method of producing it and a method of covering a wall. The wall covering comprises a planar substrate, such as a nonwoven base substrate, having a front, and a back facing opposite the front. There is a barrier layer on the back of the substrate and an adhesive layer superimposed on the barrier layer. The adhesive layer comprises a first polymer component, a second polymer component, the first polymer component being a non crosslinked polymer and said second polymer component being a crosslinked polymer exhibiting properties of superabsorbency. The adhesive exhibits when exposed to water, a strength sufficient for binding to a wall substrate and a glide resistance low enough for allowing repositioning of the wall cover by sliding the wallcover on the wall without having to lift it up over a period of time of at least 5 minutes.

Sterilizable and printable, wet-laid non-woven substrate exhibiting high-strength and temperature resistance above 140&#xb0; C., providing sufficient airflow to relieve pressure in a package formed from the substrate during sterilization, providing a significant barrier to penetration by bacteria and debris, and which is sealable to itself and to thermoplastic films, comprises blends of nanofibrillated lyocell fibers, microfibers, fibers having a flat, rectangular cross-section and binder fibers.
