A container for storage and dispensing of paint includes a unitary, molded plastic container body defining an interior volume and including an annular container opening through which the contents are dispensed. Included as part of the paint container is a dispensing spout which is positioned within the container opening and includes a pouring lip. The dispensing spout includes a threaded portion which receives a removable closing cap. The cap is constructed and arranged to close the container opening. A transporting handle is provided and is attached directly to the container body.

Container for liquids, including sealing mechanisms

A blow-molded, plastic paint container for storing and dispensing paint includes a blow-molded container body defining an externally-threaded neck portion, an injection molded plastic closing cap, internally-threaded so as to be threadedly securable to the neck portion for closing the container body, a liner assembled into the closing cap and a depending annular wall positioned between the neck portion and the liner in order to cause any paint skin that forms to be formed into two portions, one portion being adjacent to the liner and the other portion being adjacent to the container body. Each paint skin portion adhering to its corresponding structural portion of the paint container and remaining intact. In a related embodiment, the annular wall is replaced with three cutting blades.

Blow-molded paint container

A container for storage and dispensing of paint includes a unitary, molded plastic container body defining an interior volume and including an annular neck portion which is externally threaded and which defines the container opening through which the contents are dispensed. Included as part of the paint container is a dispensing spout which is positioned within the annular neck portion and includes a pouring lip, a wiping edge, and a paint brush receptacle with a plurality of drain-back apertures. The dispensing spout includes two threaded portions, one which engages the neck portion and the other which receives a removable closing cap. The cap is constructed and arranged to close the container opening. A transporting handle is provided and is attached directly to the dispensing spout such that the cap, spout, and handle can be provided as a subassembly for threaded engagement onto the container body.

A closure cap for use in combination with a container outlet is configured with a child-resistant feature involving a pair of abutment projections formed as part of the container outlet and a pair of abutment ribs formed as part of the closure cap. The container outlet is externally threaded and includes a dispensing opening. The container outlet also includes an annular skirt which provides a support surface for the pair of abutment projections. The closure cap is internally threaded and the pair of spaced-apart abutment ribs are designed to ride over each abutment projection during the threaded advance of the closure cap onto the container outlet. During retrograde rotation of the closure cap from the container outlet, the abutment ribs are designed to abut up against the abutment projections. The abutment ribs are manually movable in a radially inward direction for taking each abutment rib out of abutting engagement with a corresponding abutment projection. In a typical embodiment, the spacing between abutment projections is 160 degrees/200 degrees and the spacing between the pair of abutment ribs is likewise 160 degrees/200 degrees. The thread pitch and the axial height of the abutment ribs and abutment projections are constructed and arranged so as to require a two-step removal procedure. By placing the abutment ribs on spacing other than 180 degrees/180 degrees, the teeth of a young child cannot be used to defeat the child-resistant features.

Child-resistant threaded closure

A flexible pouring spout for material containers incorporating a tamper evident ring having the container cover molded around the peripheral edge of the spout and ring to integrally bond both the spout and its tamper-evident ring within the cover. The closure spout generally includes a dispensing orifice and a cap member for selectively closing the spout. A tamper evident ring is connected to the cap member by a series of frangible elements. Both the spout and the tamper evident ring include peripheral flanges which are molded directly within the container cover upon formation of the cover. The spout and cap with its tamper evident ring are inserted into the mold for the container cover with the peripheral flanges extending pivotally into the mold for the cover. Upon molding the cover, the molten plastic will envelope the flanges creating an integral bond with both the spout and tamper-evident, creating dual tamper evidence for the container closure. Both the mold and the preferred closure include structural features which prevent molten plastic from flowing between the flanges of the spout and tamper ring thereby eliminating deformation of the closure during molding of the container cover by reducing the force of the molten plastic directly on the closure.

Insert molded tamper evident pouring spout

A flexible pouring spout for material containers incorporating a tamper evident ring having the container cover molded around the peripheral edge of the spout and ring to integrally bond both the spout and its tamper-evident ring within the cover. The closure spout generally includes a flexible spout and a cap member for selectively closing the spout. A tamper evident ring is connected to the cap member by a series of frangible elements. Both the spout and the tamper evident ring include peripheral flanges which are molded directly within the container cover upon formation of the cover. The spout and cap with its tamper evident ring are inserted into the mold for the container cover with the peripheral flanges extending pivotally into the mold for the cover. Upon molding the cover, the molten plastic will envelope the flanges creating an integral bond with both the spout and tamper-evident, creating dual tamper evidence for the container closure.

An all-plastic closure for snap-fit attachment to a raised neck finish of a plastic container for closing the container includes a unitary dispensing spout, a threaded closing cap, and a unitary outer ring which is attached to the closing cap by a plurality of frangible elements. The neck finish of the container has a substantially cylindrical inner surface defining a container opening wherein the upper outer edge of the neck finish is configured with an outwardly extending lip portion and a recessed area therebeneath which is used for interlocking and snap-fit engagement with the all-plastic closure. The dispensing spout is moveable back and forth between a nested position and an extended position and includes an outer flange with annular inner and outer walls which are joined by an upper wall and which together define an inverted annular channel. The unitary outer ring is assembled onto and around the outer flange with a snap-fit arrangement. The annular channel of the outer flange is designed to snap over and around the raised neck finish whereby the annular inner and outer walls are sized relative to the raised neck so as to create a compressive fit against the raised neck for establishing a liquid-tight interface between the closure and the container. The closure is made tamper-evident by the presence of the frangible elements.

Nestable pouring spout assembly

The present invention relates to a hydraulically damped powertrain mount (10) which includes an inner and outer in-series elastomeric springs (12, 14), having a cylindrical form with an oval cross section. The powertrain mount is secured to a supporting object by a flange extending outwardly from the periphery of an outer support housing (18) conforming generally to the shape of the outer elastomeric spring. Adjoining the inner and outer springs is a intermediate metal plate (16) utilized to assemble the springs concentrically in a partially nested relation therewith. A mounting member (22) is received within a centrally located recess portion formed in the inner spring and projects freely from the inner spring for attaching the engine or motor which is to be supported. A diaphragm (32) is secured to the intermediate metal plate and cooperates with the inner spring to define a fluid filled chamber. The fluid chamber is divided by a partition assembly (28) into two fluid filled holding chambers (A, B). The holding chambers communicate with one another through a fluid track (40) within the partition assembly. Fitted within the partition assembly is a decoupler (38) for controlling fluid flow between the fluid-filled chambers.

Hydraulically damped powertrain mount

A fluid damped bushing (10, 100) comprising a metallic sleeve (12, 112) and an annular elastomeric body (14, 114) mold bonded to the exterior of the metallic sleeve. The elastomeric body has a spaced apart pair of fluid containing recesses (18, 118 and 20, 120) in its exterior surface with a serpentine shaped inertia track (26, 126) in the outermost surface of the elastomeric body to provide communication between the recesses. A window metal sleeve (16, 116) is encapsulated within the elastomeric body by mold bonding, and the window metal sleeve has a longitudinally spaced apart pair of rings (30, 130 and 32, 132) above and below the level of the recesses, respectively, and a diametrically opposed pair of webs (38, 138 and 40, 140) extending between the rings. In a first embodiment, a plurality of outwardly projecting pads (28) is located in one of the webs in the region of the inertia track to prevent deformation of the inertia track under lead. The annular elastomeric body inserted into an outer metallic sleeve (36, 136), while the sleeve and the elastomeric body are immersed in a damping fluid, and the diameter of the outer sleeve is then reduced by a swaging process to tightly seal the sleeve against the annular elastomeric body and to seal the damping fluid in the recesses and the inertia track. In another embodiment of the invention the metallic sleeve (112) has a generally elliptical, axially short rigid polymeric collar (140) affixed to the central portion thereof. The radially longer lobes (140a) of the collar are aligned with the recesses (118, 120) and serve to limit the amount of radial deflection of the bushing (100).

Fluid damped bushing with encapsulated window metal

A fluid damped bushing (10) comprising a metallic sleeve (12) and an annular elastomeric body (14) mold bonded to the exterior of the metallic sleeve. The elastomeric body has a spaced apart pair of fluid containing recesses (18, 20) in its exterior surface with a serpentine shaped inertia track (26) in the outermost surface of the elastomeric body to provide communication between the recesses. A window metal sleeve (16) is encapsulated within the elastomeric body by mold bonding, and the window metal sleeve has a longitudinally spaced apart pair of rings (30, 32) above and below the level of the recesses, respectively, and a diametrically opposed pair of webs (38, 40) extending between the rings. A plurality of outwardly projecting pads (28) is located in one of the webs in the region of the inertia track to prevent deformation of the inertia track under load. The annular elastomeric body is inserted into an outer metallic sleeve (36), while the sleeve and the elastomeric body are immersed in a damping fluid, and the diameter of the outer sleeve is then reduced by a swaging process to tightly seal the sleeve against the annular elastomeric body and to seal the damping fluid in the recesses and the inertia track.

A fluid damped bushing (10) comprising a metallic sleeve (12) and an annular elastomeric body (14) mold bonded to the exterior of the metallic sleeve. The elastomeric body has a spaced apart pair of fluid containing recesses (16, 18) in its exterior surface with an intermediate recess (20) positioned between the fluid containing recesses. An inertia track plate (22), which is formed from a relatively rigid material, is positioned within the intermediate recess, and the track plate has a flow passage (24) formed in its exterior surface, opposed ends of the flow passage being in fluid communication with the fluid containing recesses. The bushing is circumscribed by longitudinally short, metallic rings (26, 28) on longitudinally opposed sides of the recesses, and is then tightly surrounded by a metallic sleeve (30) which has an elastomeric inner liner (32) mold bonded to its interior surface.. The elastomeric body also has a second intermediate recess (34), which is like the intermediate recess (20) and which is diametrically opposed thereto, and the second intermediate recess is also fitted with a track plate (36). The track plate (36) is like the inertia track plate (22), except that the track plate is not provided with a flow passage corresponding to the flow passage (24).
