A polymer ring assembly for securing a diaphragm to an inner side of a polymeric vessel, a fiber-reinforced polymeric vessel containing a diaphragm secured using a polymer ring assembly and a method of manufacturing the same. The polymer ring assembly allows for the production of high-quality diaphragm expansion vessels, without the use of metal vessel bodies and metal retaining rings. Also, a ring assembly for securing a diaphragm to an inner side of a polymeric vessel, a fiber-reinforced polymeric vessel containing a diaphragm secured using a ring assembly and a method of manufacturing the same.

Composite diaphragm expansion vessels

An apparatus and method for removing amalgam and waste particles from dental office suction effluent. The apparatus includes an upper chamber and a solids collection canister removably secured thereto. Dental office suction effluent drawn through a dental suction wand enters the upper chamber along a lateral flow path above a substantially cylindrical internal wall portion. A gas component of dental office suction effluent changes direction by more than 60° before it exits the upper chamber through an exit port. A riser conveys a liquid and solids component of dental office suction effluent through a drain into the solids collection canister. A flow restrictor allows liquids and gases to exit the solids collection canister interior volume but prohibits solids from exiting the solids collection canister interior volume.

Apparatus and method for removing amalgam and waste particles from dental office suction effluent

A head assembly system for a deionization vessel, that is convertible between a first head assembly and a second head assembly. The first head assembly includes an interchangeable head including a first threaded section; and a first insert arranged entirely within a cavity of the first threaded section. The first threaded section is threaded into a larger threaded opening of a deionization vessel. The second head assembly includes the interchangeable head; a second insert arranged partially within the cavity; and a collar threaded on the first threaded section to removably secure the second insert to the interchangeable head. The second insert includes a second threaded section arranged outside of the cavity. The second threaded section is threaded into smaller threaded opening of a deionization vessel.

A method of manufacturing a pressure vessel that includes heating a preform formed of a thermoplastic polymer, inserting a blow pin assembly that includes a bung portion and a plunger portion into an opening of the heated preform, clamping the heated preform between the bung portion and sections of a blow mold, extending the plunger portion into an interior of the heated preform to stretch the heated preform in the blow mold, and blowing air into the stretched preform under pressure to form the pressure vessel such that: (a) the pressure vessel includes a tank having a neck portion, a cylindrical body portion having a diameter of at least about 200 mm, and a bottom portion, (b) at least the thermoplastic polymer in the cylindrical body portion is biaxially oriented, and (c) threads are formed in the neck portion. Also a pressure vessel formed in accordance with the method.

A cap for a filter system includes a housing, a turbine, at least one gear, and a valve. The housing defines an interior of the cap configured for receiving a fluid flow. The turbine is supported on the housing in the interior of the cap and configured for being driven by the fluid flow. The at least one gear is supported on the housing and meshed with the turbine for being driven by the turbine. The valve is supported on the housing and meshed with the at least one gear for being driven by the at least one gear. The valve closes the interior of the cap from receiving the fluid flow after a predetermined number of rotations driven by the at least one gear.

A water filtration system utilizes a housing configured to utilize various types of filter media and having a press-sealed closing system. The closing system includes a head portion defining a head opening, a lock member, and a lid member. The lock member releasably engages the head portion such that an abutment section of the lock member projects into the head opening. The lid member is received by the head portion to cover the head opening, and has an outward-facing press section configured to abut an inward facing portion of the abutment section of the lock member when the lid member is covering the head opening. Pressure generated within the housing during water filtration presses the lid member in an outward direction and causes the lid member press section to press against the abutment section of the lock member to substantially prevent disengagement of the lock member from the head portion.

Housings for reverse osmosis filter cartridges and methods of making the same. The housings include: (1) a hollow cylindrical liner formed of a thermoplastic polymer that is adapted to surround a reverse osmosis filter cartridge; (2) a hollow head assembly that includes a transition collar portion formed of a thermoplastic polymer that is joined to said liner and a barrel portion formed of a chopped glass fiber-filled polymer that is overmolded onto said transition collar portion; (3) an end plug that is adapted to be received within an opening in the barrel portion; and (4) an overwrap layer comprising wound glass filaments and a polymeric resin that covers the outer surfaces of the liner and head assembly.

Housing for reverse osmosis filter cartridge and method of forming same

The present invention provides a composite pressure vessel containing a distributor plate. The distributor plate comprises a thermoplastic polymeric disk having a top side, a bottom side, a perimeter edge and a central opening. The disk is provided with a plurality of radial slits, which define fluid flow passages through the disk between the central opening and the perimeter edge. The fluid flow passages through the disk are adapted to swirl fluid flowing through the disk from the bottom side to the top side such that it swirls around the central opening. The perimeter edge of the distributor plate is joined to an inner side of a thermoplastic liner during or immediately after the thermoplastic liner is formed by a blow-molding process or a rotational molding process.

Method of preparing a composite pressure vessel for use as a water treatment apparatus

The present invention provides a flow-control support for a distributor plate in a composite pressure vessel. The distributor plate includes a thermoplastic polymeric disk having a top side, a bottom side, a perimeter edge and a central opening and a plurality of fluid flow passages through the disk. The flow-control support is disposed between the bottom side of the disk and an inner side of an end of a thermoplastic liner assembly. The flow-control support includes a spirally fluted upper surface that is adapted to direct fluid flowing from a supply pipe disposed in the central opening of a distributor plate that is supported by the flow control support such that the fluid swirls in a space between the bottom side of the distributor plate and an inner side of an end portion of a water treatment vessel. The swirling water insures that fluid is distributed to substantially all of the fluid flow passages through the disk during backwashing operations.

The present invention provides: a distributor plate for a composite pressure vessel. The distributor plate includes a thermoplastic polymeric disk having a top side, a bottom side, a perimeter edge and a central opening. Radial slits are formed in the disk to define fluid flow passages through the disk between the central opening and the perimeter edge. The fluid flow passages through the disk are adapted to swirl fluid flowing through the disk from the bottom side to the top side around the central opening.
