An apparatus for sensing motion having a transmitter for transmitting a carrier signal; a frequency control connected to the transmitter for controlling the frequency of the carrier signal; a first receiver for receiving the reflected transmitted carrier signal; a second receiver for receiving the reflected transmitted carrier signal, the second receiver being placed out of phase by less than a wavelength of the carrier signal from the first receiver; means for subtracting the carrier signal received by the second receiver from the carrier signal received by the first receiver to produce an error signal; wherein when motion is sensed by the apparatus, the error signal moves from zero thereby causing a corrective signal to be generated and sent to the frequency control, the frequency control forcing the error signal to zero.

Apparatus and methods for remote detection of physiological changes

Disclosed herein is a critical band encoding technology (CBET) system having at least one portable people meter (PPM) and a home base station and/or household hub, the CBET system containing a radio frequency (RF) proximity detection and identification system, comprising at least one RF transmitter for receiving a control signal, modulating an RF signal to a present modulation frequency upon receipt of the control signal, and wireless transmitting the modulated signal; and an RF receiver for receiving the wirelessly transmitted modulated signal, determining the modulation frequency, and transmitting the modulation frequency to a remote location, wherein the transmission power of the RF transmitter is preset to transmit the modulated data within a predetermined range.

Radio frequency proximity detection and identification system and method

The present invention is directed to a bipolar ion detector capable of detecting both positive and negative ions in a single configuration. The invention uses either a single microchannel plates or a stack of microchannel plates to convert the ion signal into an amplified electron signal. Circuitry allows the anode to be biased (floated) to a positive high voltage and efficiently couple the signal from the anode out to recording electronics at ground.

Bipolar ion detector

A makeover system and method for using the system is provided for providing a user with an image of how a person would look with different hair, glasses, makeup, etc. Using a before picture of the person, the system displays an item on the before picture and resizes the item to fit the size of the person according to user input. Therefore, the makeover system can superimpose an item over an image of a person regardless of the size of the image of the person on a computer screen. The system then provides an after picture representing a composite image of the superimposed selected overlay item over the image of the person.

Makeover system

A sonic transducer includes a transducer body and a drive element coupled to the transducer body to produce a sonic output in response to an applied electrical input. A sense element is coupled to the sonic drive element and is configured to provide an electrical feedback output related to the sonic output. The electrical feedback output is adapted to be used to control the applied electrical input to the sonic drive element so as to control the energy delivered to the working area or tip of the transducer.
