A method of designing a circuit, an apparatus and a structural analysis tool are disclosed. In one embodiment, the structural analysis tool includes: (1) a structural analyzer configured to apply a structural rule to the circuit design in a design environment of said design process having valid timing data and (2) a structural assessor configured to generate structural data of the circuit design based on application of the structural rule by the structural analyzer.

A hierarchical interface module includes an assessment unit configured to identify a hierarchical implementation incompatibility of an integrated circuit (IC) partitioned block. Additionally, the hierarchical interface module includes an interface unit configured to substitute a directly registered hierarchical interface structure for the hierarchical implementation incompatibility of the IC partitioned block. System and method of automated design augmentation for efficient hierarchical implementation

Methods and structure for correlating internal operational signals routed via different paths of a test signal selection hierarchy. The structure includes a functional block of circuitry operable to generate internal operational signals and clock signals. The integrated circuit also comprises a test signal selection hierarchy operable to receive the internal operational signals and the clock signals and to selectively route the internal operational signals and the clock signals. Further, structure includes a control unit operable to receive the clock signals from the test signal selection hierarchy, to determine a delay between received clock signals routed via different signaling pathways of the test signal selection hierarchy. The control unit is further operable to program a delay line based upon the delay between the clock signals and based upon internal operational signals correlated with the clock signals.

Methods and structure for correlation of test signals routed using different signaling pathways

A mode register is created during the design of a complex, multi-mode electronic circuit. The mode register may contain connections to various switches, clocks, multiplexers, or other portions of the circuit that may have settings necessary to operate the circuit in different modes. The mode register may be used during circuit simulation by setting the mode register to a certain setting when running a static timing analysis script or other type of circuit simulation. After the circuit design is completed and before manufacturing the circuit, the mode register is disabled or removed from the circuit.
