A restraint apparatus operable by a user for restraining a limb of a person to a restraining point including a cuff having a first end and a second end. The cuff is operable between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The cuff is secured around the limb of the person in the closed configuration and the first end and the second end are separated from each other in the open configuration. At least one tether is attached to the cuff. The tether includes a coupler to couple the cuff to the restraining point when the cuff is in the closed configuration. The cuff is wearable by a least a portion of a hand of the user in the open configuration.

Patient restraint system and methods for assisting a caregiver with patient restraint

An impact protection and shock absorbing device includes a support surface, and a plurality of flexible spines, configured of one or more sizes, each having a length defined from a base portion at the support surface to a distal portion thereof, and whereby each spine extends in one or more longitudinal directions outwardly from the support surface, at one or more angles less than 90 degrees. Sufficient deflecting of one or more spines by impact force causes impinging and deflecting of one or more other spines thereby dispersing and reducing impact forces.

Impact protection and shock absorbing system and method

A flow-through sensing apparatus includes a flow-head and a sensor that are configured to be selectively coupled through use of a quick-disconnect mechanical coupling. When the sensor is coupled with the flow-head, the sensor cooperates with the flow-head to at least partially define a sensing chamber. The sensor is configured to determine a process parameter, such as refractive index, regarding a substance in the sensing chamber.

Sensing apparatus

A handle and housing assembly includes a housing having front and rear sides. A handle is connected on the front side of the housing to a shaft that extends through the housing along a forwardly-rearwardly extending axis. The handle may turn the shaft about the axis to turn components connected to a rear portion of the shaft, and/or the handle may move shaft-connected components forwardly and rearwardly along the axis of the shaft. In some embodiments, the housing defines a forwardly facing recess, and the handle is nestable within and extendable from the recess. In some embodiments, the handle and housing are provided with padlockable formations that extend side by side when the handle is in its nested or retracted position. In some embodiments, rearwardly extending housing-carried formations cooperate with a shaft-connected component to limit the permitted range of turning movement of the shaft about the principal axis, and/or the formations extend along opposite sides of a path of travel followed by a lock bolt to guide the lock bolt as it moves between locked and unlocked positions to selectively prevent and permit turning of the shaft about the principal axis.
