A number of dolly assemblies are connected in series with chain linkage sections to form an endless conveyor chain for the dolly assemblies to move objects along a track. Each dolly assembly includes a link attachment and a wheel assembly supported by the link attachment. The link attachment includes a base and a body portion. The body portion presents an open-loop partially surrounding an interior and extending between a pair of ends. The ends are spaced from one another to define an opening to the interior therebetween. The pair of ends are also formed in toward the interior to partially surround a respective pocket. Each pocket is configured to receive a portion of an endlink of a respective chain linkage section therein, and each one of the formed ends functions to prevent the endlink of the respective chain linkage section from becoming unhooked from the body portion.

Dolly assembly for a conveyor system

A lighting device is provided for attachment to a component that defines an open area. The lighting device includes a mounting plate and a light emitting diode (LED) assembly. The mounting plate extends longitudinally, and is disposable within the open area. The mounting plate presents a first mounting surface and a second mounting surface. The LED assembly is operatively attached to the first mounting surface, with the LEDs being operatively attached to the first mounting surface, such that the LEDS form at least two columns. Each LED is configured to emit a respective field of light in response to being energized. The LED assembly is configured such that a field of light projected from the LEDs for one of the at least two columns is projected radially away from the field of light projected from the LEDs for the other of the at least two columns.

Lighting device for a component of a vehicle wash system

A conveyor assembly is provided for movably supporting a tire of a vehicle. The conveyor assembly includes a track, a dolly, and a trapdoor assembly. The track is configured for supporting the tire of the vehicle. The track terminates at an edge, and a gap is defined beyond the edge. The dolly is configured to move along the track to the edge so as to guide the tire along the track to the edge. The trapdoor assembly is configured to substantially cover the gap when in a closed position and is movable to an open position to uncover the gap and allow the dolly to translate around the edge. The trapdoor assembly includes a device configured to prevent a human from inadvertently opening the trapdoor assembly.

A vehicle washing system includes an overhead car wash mitter assembly. The assembly includes a pair of side support structures and an overhead supporting structure extending between the side support structures. The overhead supporting structure includes a plurality of rows of racks with each row including a left side rack and a right side rack. The left side racks are moveable together and the right side racks are moveable together and independently of the left side racks. A first gap exists between one of the rows of racks. A second gap exists between another of the rows of racks. The first gap and the second gap are offset laterally from one another with respect to the direction of travel of a vehicle to eliminate any break or gap in cleaning coverage.

A rotary finishing device including a generally circular hub having an inner periphery and an outer periphery. The outer periphery includes a plurality of slots formed thereabout, which are defined by a pair of side portions. The plurality of slots are generally uniformly spaced about the outer periphery of the hub. Each of the slots has at least one finishing sheet secured therein by an adhesive.

Abrading/polishing device and method of making and using same

A reloading apparatus for automatically supplying staples to a stapler. A supply of staples is retained on a plurality of rails which are fixed to a cylindrical support member which is rotatably mounted on a common frame with the stapler. The staples are sequentially fed from the rails of the reloading apparatus to the stapler by a pneumatically powered follower which moves toward the stapler on a feeding stroke and returns to the opposite side of the rails after the staples on a rail have been fed into the stapler. An indexer then rotates the cylindrical support to align another rail with the follower to feed the staples on the other rail into the stapler. A pneumatic control coordinates the stapler and the reloading apparatus.

The power operated bi-fold strip curtain door assembly is well-suited for doorways and openings to conserve energy and has applications, as an example, in the car wash industry and in industrial plants. A pair of strip curtain supporting inboard and outboard sections are hinged together at next adjacent side edges in side-by-side relation. The inboard section of each pair is suspended from an overhead track by a carriage guidingly engaged with the track. A fluid power actuator is provided for each pair of sections and, when energized, operates to fold and extend the door sections to respectively open and close the door assembly. One of the door sections of each pair has a side edge strip curtain upper horizontal hem portion reinforced such that its vertical border portion extends laterally in the plane of the strip door section a predetermined distance therebeyond. With the two sections of each pair extended, the border portion is moved into overlapping flush relation to the neighboring strip curtain section providing a seal therebetween. Sensors, as an example, are located on one or both sides of the doorway for signaling the door actuators. Upon sensing the presence of a vehicle, the hinged sections of the door assembly automatically fold open avoiding contact with the vehicle, as the vehicle passes through the doorway.

The power operated bi-fold strip curtain door assembly is well-suited for doorways and openings to conserve energy and has applications, as an example, in the car wash industry and in industrial plants. Strip curtain supporting inboard and outboard sections are hinged together at next adjacent side edges in side-by-side relation. The inboard section is suspended from an overhead track by a carriage guidingly engaged with the track. A fluid power actuator, when energized, operates to fold and extend the door sections to respectively open and close the strip curtain door. One of the door sections has a side edge strip curtain upper horizontal hem portion reinforced such that its vertical border portion extends laterally in the plane of the strip door section a predetermined distance therebeyond. With the bi-fold door extended, the border portion is moved into overlapping flush relation to the neighboring strip curtain section providing a seal therebetween. Sensors, as an example, are located on one or both sides of the doorway for signaling the door actuators. Upon sensing the presence of a vehicle, the bi-fold curtain door assembly automatically folds open avoiding contact with the vehicle, as it passes through the doorway.

A retractable wax, buff and polish apparatus for cars includes an open framework upon a floor through which a vehicle is adapted to pass. A vertically adjustable carriage is guidably mounted upon the framework and suspends therefrom a pair of coplanar horizontal racks, each rack having a plurality of parallel spaced fabric panels at their upper ends depending therefrom, defining a segmented friction curtain adapted on lowering of the carriage and oscillation of the racks for buffing and polishing engagement with a car. A vertically adjustable counterweight is mounted upon the framework and connected by a chain and sprockets to the carriage whereby selective raising or lowering of the counterweight respectively lowers or raises the curtain. Pressurized canisters mounted upon the framework are activated on lowering of the curtain for delivering a foam of wax or detergent and water onto the car. An opposed pair of side wheel arms each mounting a power operated buffing and polishing wheel assembly are mounted upon the framework and are biased for operative engagement with the car as it passes through the framework. Hydraulic and pneumatic circuits are employed including a plurality of valve assemblies, which when activated are adapted for controlling, raising and lowering of the curtain and activation of the canisters, and the buffing and polishing wheels. A safety circuit is interposed into the pneumatic circuit for automatically raising the curtain under conditions which would otherwise damage the curtain or vehicle.
