An insect trap using attractant light, comprising a source of insect attractant light and a housing that can be mounted on a generally planar or flat mounting surface. The housing and the source of light cooperate to form a bidirectional or a multidirectional (overlapping or non-overlapping) pattern of insect attractant light. The housing comprises one, two or more openings for the insect attractant light that is reflected and radiated onto the flat mounting surface. The housing and the source of insect attractant light can cooperate to form a light pattern directed in a continuous display pattern that can surround the housing. The housing openings further facilitate the entry of flying insect pests into the trap. As the insects enter the trap, they are immobilized on an insect immobilization surface mounted within the trap. Cooperation between direct radiant light, reflected light and the position of the housing and insect immobilization surface forms at least two (preferably non-overlapping) light displays that can substantially increase capture rates when compared to prior traps. The trap can also display a light pattern substantially surrounding the trap housing.

Fly trap with multiple light patterns

Several embodiments of an insect trap using attractant light displayed on a projection surface are disclosed. The insect trap can be mounted on a vertical surface or on a ceiling surface. The wall-mounted housing forms an upwardly facing opening for facilitating entry of flying insect pests and for the reflection of light onto the vertical surface. The ceiling-mounted housing has a lateral opening for facilitating entry of pests and for reflection of light onto the ceiling and/or opposite wall. Insects that enter the trap are immobilized on an adhesive surface within the trap. A method of trapping insects is also disclosed.

Light trap for insects

A method of preparing a rapid acting bait composition which is water based and contains a water-sensitive insecticide as an active ingredient is described. The composition is easily applied into cracks and crevices and voids or other pest harborage areas to rapidly kill insect pests, particularly cockroaches. A kit is also described for preparation of the composition.

Insect trap with continuous light pattern

A housing has a first, dispensing end and a second, opposite end. A lever is squeezed against the housing to move a plunger toward the dispensing end. When fully squeezed, the lever extends parallel to the plunger and the longitudinal axis of the housing. The extent to which the plunger advances may be adjusted by relocating the pivot axis defined between the lever and the housing. A resilient washer is mounted on the shaft of the plunger and disposed behind a shoulder on the housing. The resilient washer deflects and/or stretches forward when the plunger advances, and urges the plunger rearward upon release of the lever.

Dispenser for viscous material

Disclosed is a substantially water-free insecticidal granular bait suitable for controlling crawling insects such as cockroaches and ants. The bait includes an insecticide, several feeding stimulants which are typically carbohydrates and proteins, and a lipid. These bait compositions are in granular form, which are useful for application in hard-to-reach areas and are particularly useful in wet conditions, as well as hot, dry areas.

Novel fat-like petroleum based, water-free, insecticidal compositions are described which are particularly effective against insect pests such as cockroaches, ants, termites, flies, etc. The compositions may be used in various forms depending on the targeted pests. As an example, the composition in the form of a paste can be applied into cracks and crevices for control of such pests and have the advantage of superior durability and prolonged attractiveness.

Petroleum based pest bait

Novel insecticidal compositions are described which are particularly effective against insect pests such as cockroaches, ants, termites, crickets, flies and the like, which contain an effective amount of insecticide and a synergistic effective amount of water powder. The compositions, preferably using boric acid as an insecticide, and preferably in the form of a paste or dust bait, kill such pests more quickly or allow lower concentrations of insecticide to be used in such compositions.

Water powder as a synergist in pest baits

A rodent bait station includes an enclosure having an inclined passageway leading from an opening in the enclosure to an elevated bait receptacle having a removable tray with a handle. The inclined passageway terminates at the lowest elevation of the opening to prevent water from becoming trapped in the enclosure. A separate internal receptacle is provided in the enclosure for storing and protecting printed materials, e.g., maintenance records. A replaceable latch on the enclosure includes an alignment member disposed between a pair of engagement members which engage cooperative slots and which are deformable to unengaged positions by a key that wedges between the engagement members and the alignment member.

Fat-based pest bait

A formulated attractant for household flying pests and the optimal release rates have been found providing improved attractiveness when compared to prior art attractants including the use of fermented materials or hydrolyzed or other decomposed proteins. The attractant is pleasant and nontoxic to humans when used correctly, and is easily manufactured, stored and transported.
