A spill containment assembly for containing fluids, such as battery acid, leaked or spilled from one or more devices stored on a storage rack and thereby prevent contamination of surrounding areas. The spill containment assembly includes a series of wall segments coupled together and a series of adjustable clips for coupling the wall segments to the storage rack. The series of wall segments together define a perimeter of a spill containment chamber for containing the fluids leaked from the one or more devices.

Battery spill containment system and method of making the same

An adjustable storage rack configured to support a variety of devices, including valve regulated or flooded lead acid batteries. In one embodiment, the adjustable storage rack includes a series of stanchions, a series of side rails extending between at least two of the stanchions, and a series of end rails extending between two of the side rails. The adjustable storage rack may also include a stanchion adjustment assembly slidably coupling one of the stanchions to one of the side rails. The adjustable storage rack may also include first and second end rail adjustment assemblies. The first end rail adjustment assembly slidably couples a first end portion of one of the end rails to one of the side rails, and the second end rail adjustment assembly slidably couples a second end portion of the end rail to a second one of the side rails.

Disclosed is a modular spill containment rail system for containing a hazardous spilled substance from at least one battery. The system has a plurality of containment rails that are connectable to one another to define a perimeter around the battery. Each rail has at least one wall with a first end and a second end. At least one male connection device orthogonally protrudes from the first end and at least one female opening may be provided in the second end. A first end of a first rail may be removably received within a second end of second rail. Upon connecting the rails, at least a part of the first end of the first rail may be in an overlapping relationship with the second end of the second rail. A method for assembling a system and a containment system with a flexible liner and a neutralizing material are also disclosed herein.

The system neutralizes and absorbs leaks and spills to prevent the leaks and spills from spreading. The system not only detects leaks, but also indicates whether a leak has occurred. The system can communicate with personnel or devices to raise an alarm or cause corrective measures to occur. The spill containment system includes a battery rack inside a battery rack cabinet having a door. To open the door and gain access to the batteries, one of the rigid containment rails is removed such that the exposed flexible corrosion-resistant liner may be flexed to permit the opening and closing of the door.

A battery spill containment system and method are provided for containing a hazardous spilled substance from at least one industrial battery in service as a back-up power supply. The system comprises a containment rail system to define a perimeter to accommodate the at least one industrial battery; a flexible liner for placement within the perimeter defined by the containment rail system, the flexible liner having a base and an edge, wherein the edge rises at least about four inches above the base, the flexible liner being resistant to damage from the spilled substance; and a material for placement within the perimeter defined by the containment rail system, the material to absorb and chemically neutralize the spilled substance from the at least one industrial battery so that the hazardous nature of the spilled substance to humans or material structures is reduced, wherein the containment rail system is mounted to the floor whereby battery lifting equipment can be used to access the at least one industrial battery for servicing or replacement.
