A gas turbine system includes a compressor section, a turbine section, a combustor section. The combustor section is in fluid communication with a fuel supply via a fuel supply line. The water circuit includes a first water line extending between a first feed water supply line and a return water line. The gas turbine system further includes an extraction-air line that extends between an inlet port on the compressor section and an outlet port on the turbine section. A first heat exchanger thermally couples the first water line to the extraction-air line for transferring heat from a flow of extraction-air within the extraction-air line to a flow of water within the water circuit. A second heat exchanger thermally couples the first water line to the fuel supply line for transferring heat from the flow of water within the water circuit to a flow of fuel within the fuel supply line.

Combined cycle power plant having serial heat exchangers

In an embodiment, a system includes a gas turbine controller. The gas turbine controller is configured to receive a plurality of sensor signals from a fuel composition sensor, a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, a flow sensor, or a combination thereof, included in a gas turbine engine system. The controller is further configured to execute a gas turbine model by applying the plurality of sensor signals as input to derive a plurality of estimated gas turbine engine parameters. The controller is also configured to execute a flame holding model by applying the plurality of sensor signals and the plurality of estimated gas turbine engine parameters as input to derive a steam flow to fuel flow ratio that minimizes or eliminates flame holding in a fuel nozzle of the gas turbine engine system.

Systems and methods for flame holding avoidance in gas turbine combustors

Inlet air heating systems for combined cycle power plants and combined cycle power plants including inlet air heating systems are disclosed. The inlet air heating systems may include a plurality of heating coil assemblies partially positioned within an inlet housing of a gas turbine system, and a vent valve in fluid communication with each of the heating coils. The inlet air heating system may also include a supply line in fluid communication with the heating coils to provide water to the heating coils, and a hot water line in fluid communication with the supply line and a component positioned downstream of a condenser of the combined cycle power plant. The hot water line may provide hot water from the combined cycle power plant to the supply line. Additionally, the inlet air heating system may include a drain line in fluid communication with the heating coils and the condenser.

Inlet air heating systems for combined cycle power plants

A combined cycle power plant that includes a gas turbine and HRSG engaged with a steam turbine via a water steam cycle having higher and lower pressure levels. The CCPP further includes a fuel line and fuel preheater. A higher pressure feedwater line delivers higher pressure feedwater to a higher pressure feedwater branch that extends through the fuel preheater, the high pressure feedwater branch including upstream and downstream segments defined to each side of the fuel preheater. A lower pressure feedwater line delivers lower pressure feedwater to a lower pressure feedwater branch. The downstream segment of the higher pressure feedwater branch is combined with the lower pressure feedwater branch at a junction point and a combined feedwater line extends therefrom. A first heat exchanger exchanges heat between the combined feedwater line and fuel line. A second heat exchanger exchanges heat between the higher pressure feedwater branch and fuel line.

Fuel preheating system for a combustion turbine engine

A turbine engine comprising includes at least one combustor, a liquid fuel supply system, and a fuel additive injection system. The combustor is configured to combust liquid fuel. The liquid fuel supply system is configured to channel liquid fuel through at least one fuel line to the at least one combustor. The fuel additive injection system is coupled in fluid communication with the liquid fuel supply system. The fuel additive injection system includes a recirculation circuit configured to recirculate at least a portion of liquid fuel to the liquid fuel supply system. The fuel additive injection system is configured to channel chemical additive through the recirculation circuit for mixing with the at least a portion of liquid fuel to generate an additive fuel mixture configured to inhibit coke formation in the liquid fuel supply system.

A system and related method for providing a highly reactive fuel to a combustor of a gas turbine are disclosed herein. The system includes a fuel supply system that is in fluid communication with a fuel supply. The fuel supply system includes multiple fuel circuits. Each fuel circuit individually feeds fuel to a corresponding fuel distribution manifold. The system further includes a steam injection system. The steam injection system includes at least one flow control valve that is in fluid communication with at least one of the fuel circuits. The flow control valve provides for fluid communication between a superheated steam source and the fuel circuit during both fueled operation and during non-fueled operation of the corresponding fuel circuit.

System and method for providing highly reactive fuels to a combustor

A system for supplying fuel includes a fuel manifold, a water manifold, and a fluid junction between the fuel manifold and the water manifold. A turbulator downstream from the fluid junction receives a fluid flow from the fluid junction. A method for supplying fuel includes flowing fuel through a fuel manifold, flowing water through a water manifold, and combining a portion of the water from the water manifold with the fuel from the fuel manifold to create emulsion fuel. The method further includes flowing the emulsion fuel through a turbulator.

A system includes a plurality of extraction passages configured to passively extract a portion of a gas flow from a downstream region of a gas flow path. A system includes a gas turbine engine that includes a combustor section having a turbine combustor that generates combustion products, a turbine section having one or more turbine stages driven by the combustion products, an exhaust section disposed downstream of the turbine section, an oxygen sensor adaptor housing disposed in at least one of the combustor section, the turbine section, or the exhaust section, or any combination thereof, and an oxygen sensor disposed in the oxygen sensor adaptor housing.
