The invention is a flying wing aircraft having a forward fuselage; an aft fuselage segment; a propulsion segments adapted to mate to the fuselage segments; a pair of wing segments adapted to mate with the propulsion segments. The invention further includes a center section adapted to fit between the forward and aft fuselage sections; the center section adapted to receive multiple compartment systems.

The invention is an aircraft that includes a flying wing having a plurality of extendable flaps mounted on the trailing edge of the flying wing. A canard is mounted on the nose of said flying wing. A system is mounted in the flying wing for providing high pressure air over the canard and the flaps. A second system is provided for controlling the flow of air over the canard to provide pitch control of the aircraft.

A self-contained transportable life support system for resuscitation, stabilization, and transport of a patient has an environmentally controlled housing for receiving and supporting a patient and a plurality of medical devices disposed within the housing. A control circuit attached to the housing has at least a portion thereof extending to an external surface of the housing for regulating operation of the medical devices and environmental conditions of within the housing in response to monitored life support conditions of the patient.

Self contained transportable life support system

A system for directing an object is disclosed. The system includes a first gyroscope with a first rotating rotor and a second gyroscope with a second rotating rotor. Each gyroscope has a motor that rotates a first gimbal coupled to the rotor and a brake that decreases the rotation of a second gimbal coupled to the first gimbal. The first gyroscope and the second gyroscope generate a torque.

Self-contained transportable life support system

An automatic mechanical lockdown for releasably attaching a litter to a transportable life support system has a base having a recess formed therein and a generally arcuate latch typically attached to the base. The recess of the base is sized to receive a pole of a litter. The latch has open and closed positions with respect to the recess such that the latch is pushed from the closed position thereof to the open position thereof when a litter pole is moved toward the recess of the base. The latch returns and remains in the closed position thereof when a litter pole is disposed within the recess. A spring which is attached to the base and the latch biases the latch in the closed position thereof. The latch can be moved from the closed position to the open position thereof by a person's thumb while the person maintains his grasp upon a litter pole.

Automatic mechanical lock down for transportable life support system

A transportable life support system for providing medical care to a patient while transporting the patient from one location to another has a platform configured to receive the patient, a plurality of medical devices attached to the platform for providing medical monitoring and medical therapy to the patient, and a control and display panel comprising controls and displays for the medical devices. The control and display panel provides a centralized location for monitoring and controlling the medical devices so as to mitigate a need for an operator to move about the platform in order to individually observe a display for each medical device and to individually control each medical device.

In accordance with the present invention, there is provided an aircraft engine air intake cover for use with an air intake which is characterized by an air velocity profile therewithin. The air intake cover is provided with an air induction plate which disposed across at least a portion of the air intake. The air intake cover is further provided with a multitude of air induction ducts. The induction ducts are disposed about and extend through the air induction plate. Each induction duct has a duct inlet, a duct outlet and a duct body interposed between the duct inlet and the duct outlet. The duct inlets each respectively define an effective inlet diameter. The duct bodies each respectively define a duct body length which is greater than the associated effective duct inlet diameter. The duct outlets each respectively define an effective outlet diameter greater than the effective inlet diameter for increasing the cohesiveness of the air velocity profile within the air intake.

Aircraft engine air intake system

A self-contained isolation and environmental protection life support system for shielding a patient contained therein or, alternatively, isolating a contaminated patient from a clean environment while allowing treatment of traumatic injuries to the patient. The system comprises the combination of an environmental control system (ECS) and a containment enclosure that are designed to function in concert with conventional life support stretcher. The ECS component possesses an air management system that is designed and configured to extract contaminated particles and gas from the external air and deliver the same to the patient contained within the containment enclosure. To facilitate such delivery, the containment enclosure is preferably provided with a plurality of tubular passages which are designed to be filled with air provided by the ventilator system to thus cause the containment enclosure to expand to form a semi-rigid structure. A multiplicity of apertures formed upon the tubular passages that causes the purified air to pass therethrough and wash over the patient in a head-to-toe direction such that rapid removal of toxic residues is facilitated. The system further includes heating and cooling systems integrated into the ECS coupled with an environmental sensor to regulate attemporated air to a desired temperature depending on the conditions of the external environment.

Self-contained isolation and enviromental protection system

An isolation bag for isolating a casualty from a contaminated environment. The bag is preferably fabricated from a transparent, biochemically resistive material and is specifically designed and configured to be utilized in combination with a self-contained transportable life support system. The isolation bag is further provided with a plurality of tubular passages which are designed to be filled with air provided by the transportable life support system to thus cause the isolation bag to expand and form a semi-rigid structure. A multiplicity of apertures are formed upon the tubular passages in such a manner that enables refreshed air to pass therethrough which washes over the patient in a head-to-toe direction such that rapid removal of toxic and infectious residues is facilitated.

A ram wing vehicle comprises a main structure extending between a nose end and a tail end, including an aerodynamic lifting body having an aspect ratio less than approximately 1.0 and extending between a leading edge and a trailing edge. The ratio of the thickness of the lifting body intermediate the leading edge and the trailing edge to the length of the chord thereof is greater than approximately 1:8. A propulsion source is provided adjacent the nose end for generating an efflux and for directing the efflux beyond the tail end in a direction away from the nose end. A directional control mechanism is positioned adjacent the nose end for turning the vehicle about the yaw axis into a curve having a center and so vectoring the efflux from the propulsion source as to direct the efflux to the outside of the turn and the nose end toward the center of the curve. The directional control mechanism includes a yaw control mechanism for vectoring the efflux from the propulsion means about the yaw axis and a pitch control mechanism for vectoring the efflux from the propulsion means about the pitch axis of the main structure. The vehicle has significant cargo carrying capacity and is capable of operating either in ground effect, over terrain, or on water.
