A foamed, opacifying element useful as a light-blocking article is prepared with a dry opacifying layer on a substrate. The dry opacifying layer is densified, followed by application of a functional composition formulation to form a functional composition upon drying and curing at a coverage of 0.5-15 g/m. The functional composition comprises at least: (i) glass particles such as hollow glass particles at a coverage of 0.1-2.2 g/cm, and can also include any or combination of a (iv) water-soluble or water-dispersible organic polymeric binder that may be crosslinked, thickeners, coating aids having an HLB of at least 5, (ii) lubricants, (iii) tinting materials, and (v) crosslinking agents. Among other properties, the presence of the glass particles provides additional heat absorption for the foamed, opacifying elements that can be formed into light-blocking materials.

An electrode film includes a first electrode pattern having a first set of parallel conductive electrodes and a second electrode pattern having a second set of parallel conductive electrodes disposed on a surface of a transparent film. The flexographic printing system prints a third electrode pattern including a third set of parallel electrodes onto a second surface of the transparent film using the catalytic ink, wherein the first, second and third sets of parallel electrodes are arranged in an interlaced pattern. A conductive metallic material is electrolessly plated onto the catalytic ink such that the elements of the first, second and third electrode patterns become conductive.

An intermediate transfer member for electrophotography includes a substrate, a cured static dissipative silicone compliant layer comprising crosslinked silicone polymer formed from a UV light curable siloxane and a UV curing catalyst, and an outermost surface ceramer layer. This intermediate transfer member can be incorporated into a suitable imaging apparatus for forming a toned image on a receiver element.

The present invention discloses a fuser roller composition that contains a fluorocopolymer, an aliphatic ketone organic solvent, metal oxide particles, and a benzyltriphenylphosphonium phenolate salt curing agent. The method for forming the transport member provides a substrate bearing a high friction layer that includes inorganic particles, with a compound of aluminum selected from the group consisting of aluminum hydroxide, alumina hydrate, aluminum oxide, pseudo-boehmite, boehmite alumina, aluminum salts, and mixtures thereof, dispersed in an organic binder so that the high friction layer is capable of preventing a loss of frictional coupling due to release oil applied to a receiver member bearing a fused toner image.

A recording process is provided for producing recorded images having enhanced durability. The process includes applying droplets of ink by means of an ink-jet printer or a pen plotter in an image-wise fashion onto the surface of an ink-receiving layer supported on a transparent, plastic film support to record an image thereon, contacting the surface of the ink-receiving layer containing the recorded image against an opaque or transparent substrate to form a composite of the supported ink-receiving layer and the opaque or transparent substrate so that the ink-receiving layer containing the recorded image is positioned between the substrate and the transparent, plastic film support and then applying sufficient heat and pressure to the composite thus formed to adhere or laminate the supported ink-receiving layer to the substrate so that the recorded image is protected by the transparent, plastic film against abrasion, smearing, fading and water damage.

Method of producing recorded images having enhanced durability on a variety of substrates

A method of making a multiactive photoconductive elements is disclosed. The method uses a knurl free planar polymeric support having beads protruding from one surface. An element comprising such supports is also disclosed.
