An elevator counterweight signaling system is provided. The elevator counterweight signaling system includes an actuation assembly configured for contact with an elevator counterweight guide rail. A signaling assembly is configured for electrical communication with the actuation assembly and one or more electrical connectors is configured to electrically connect the actuation assembly with the signaling assembly. The signaling assembly is configured to provide visual and/or audio indications of a moving elevator counterweight assembly.

A guide rail straightness tester is provided. The guide rail straightness tester includes a first rail clamp assembly attached to a guide rail. An opposing second rail clamp assembly is attached to the guide rail. A sensor assembly is positioned between the first and second rail clamp assemblies and configured for slidable seating on the guide rail. The sensor assembly includes a sensor plate. A line extends from the first rail clamp assembly through an aperture in the sensor plate and is connected to the second rail clamp assembly. The sensor assembly is configured to determine the straightness of the guide rail during movement of the sensor assembly along the guide rail.

An electronic circuit for digitally processing analog electrical signals produced by at least one acoustic transducer is presented. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a novel digital time delay circuit is utilized which employs an array of First-in-First-out (FiFo) microchips. Also, a bandpass filter is used at the input to this circuit for isolating drill string noise and eliminating high frequency output.

A corn cob holder and method, which holder comprises a handle adapted to be grasped by a user, an elongated, pointed penetrating element to penetrate the soft, inner pith of the corn cob to be held, and between the handle and penetrating element, a pair of upwardly curved retainer sections each having a knife-like edge and the retainer section of sufficient width so as to permit the knife-like edges to cut into the inner surface of the woody ring of lignified conducting tissue of the corn cob surrounding the inner pith so as to retain the corn cob holder in a secured holding position.

A printer stand for supporting a printer apparatus and for storing fanfold paper and which printer stand comprises an integral, plastic, generally U-shaped frame element, defining a storage space for fanfold paper within the frame for use by a printer apparatus placed on the top surface of the frame. The printer stand includes upright support elements within the storage area and toward the one open end of the frame element, which support elements are secured to only one surface of the top and bottom of the frame element. The printer stand also includes a paper-bar-retaining element on the lower upright bottom surface of the frame element to restrain the fanfold paper in the storage space, and to permit the free, upward movement of the fanfold paper from the storage area out the back open end of the frame to the printer apparatus on the printer stand.
