Switch assembly (100) includes a housing (112) having a pair of spring finger contacts (114and 116) and a circuit board (144). A spring loaded actuator (134) is slideably located within housing (112) between first and second switching positions. Actuator (134) includes a pair of conductive wipers (136 and 138) which move relative to metalized traces (146, 148 and 150) located on the top surface of circuit board (144). Switch assembly (100) provides for a compact surface mountable switch which is capable of switching RF signals between a radio antenna (618) and an external accessory connector while minimizing electrical signal path lengths and moving parts in the switch assembly.

Slide switch assembly

A self-retaining actuator is provided for actuating a switch within a housing. A lever includes fingers which extend through a hole in the housing. Lips on the fingers mount the lever to the housing. A resilient seal is positioned about the fingers and engages the lever and housing about the hole. A resilient actuator extends from the seal between the fingers to actuate the switch when the lever is depressed.

Self-retaining actuator

A knob assembly is provided which includes a knob having an integral shaft. The knob further includes a circular groove therein, and first and second cams situated in the groove. A knob receiving member includes an aperture in which the shaft of the knob is situated. Two snap fingers of flexible material extend from the sides of the aperture to engage the knob when the knob is pressed into the aperture. The knob is conveniently removed from the aperture by rotating the knob until the first and second cams contact and push the first and second snap fingers, respectively, out of the groove.
