The device has a body with holes to accept the bone screws. The bone screws have a layer of bioresorbable material on a surface portion of the head of the screw contiguous with the shaft. Engagement between the bone screws and the body is initially through the bioresorbable material, which engagement rigidly fixes the relative angular orientation between the bone screws and the body when the device is applied to a bone. As the bioresrobable material is resorbed the angular relation between the bone screws and the body is no longer rigidly fixed, thereby effecting a transformation from rigid osteosynthesis to flexible osteosynthesis to allow micromotion between the bone fragments which promotes healing.

A bone fixation device for treatment of a bone fracture includes a fixation screw defining a transverse opening, a fixation arm configured for inserting the fixation screw through a bone fracture, a set screw, and an aiming arm configured for inserting the set screw into the transverse opening and engagement with the fixation screw. The set screw stabilizes the fixation screw.

A centering assembly for centering a surgical guidewire, includes a guidewire having an elongate body having a first end and a second end. The assembly further includes an expander located at the first end. The expander has a center point aligned with the elongate guidewire. An actuator is located at the second end. Actuation of the actuator moves the expander between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration.

A case assembly for holding a selection of paintbrushes of the type having bristles bound to a handle with a metal band. The case assembly has ventilation openings that provide ventilation to the interior of the case. A support board is provided that is sized to fit within the interior of the case. At least one magnet is coupled to each support board. Each magnet attracts the metal bands of the paintbrushes, therein attaching the paintbrushes to each support board. By attaching the paintbrushes to the support boards with magnetism, the bristles of the paintbrushes remain unconfined. Furthermore, the paintbrushes can be attached in any orientation, such as a bristle-down orientation. This prevents water from gathering near the metal bands of the paintbrushes and causing rust.
