An elongated lighting module having an asymmetric illumination source formed from at least two rows of light emitting diodes (LEDs) that extend along the long axis of the module and are independently controllable. The illumination source is rectangular and oriented so that the rows of LEDs extend along the long axis of the module. The module has couplings at each end that allow additional modules to be interconnected to each other and to a central mount, thereby avoiding the need for a support pole having cross-arms. The lighting modules are powered via a wiring harness that extends down a support pole to a power converter stack having LED drivers to control the modules.

A coupling for vibration testing comprises a pair of connecting links to be attached to a shaker head and to a driven fixture, respectively. Each of these has an axial passage through it and a convex spherical distal bearing surface. These bearing surfaces face each other. A center element has an axial passage through it and has opposite concave spherical bearing surfaces that face against the convex spherical bearing surfaces of the two connecting links. A low-friction coating or layer, i.e., fiber-reinforced PTFE, is applied to the convex bearing surfaces of the connecting links and provides a low-friction sliding surface against the mating surfaces of the center element. A preload bolt extends through the axial passages of the device and exerts a compressive axial preloading stress which exceeds the maximum vibrational force likely to be encountered.

Coupling for vibration testing

A random vibration generator includes a hollow tabletop for supporting equipment to be subjected to vibration, and a sinusoidal reaction-type vibration machine connected to the tabletop to produce a sinusoidal vibration of adjustable frequency and amplitude. The hollow tabletop is horizontally divided into four sections, each containing a number of projectiles such as heavy balls which roll and bounce about within the compartments in the tabletop, impacting with the floor and ceiling of the compartment and with each other in a random fashion to produce random shocks over a wide band of frequency and amplitude, and subject the equipment to every possible vibration failure mode that might occur in nature.
