A method for delivering content to be locked in a user device is provided. The method includes receiving a content selection. A device identifier that is operable to identify a specified user device is received. A lock message is generated based on the content selection. The lock message is sent to the user device identified by the device identifier.

Method and system for delivering content to and locking content in a user device

A terminal and computer program product allow a user of a communication device to quickly reply to a received email message using any one of several different communication methods. Communication identifiers, such as email addresses and telephone numbers, are automatically retrieved from anywhere in the received email message and the retrieved communication identifiers are matched to the user's contact list. A list is then generated comprising those contacts for which the extracted communication identifiers match the communication identifiers from the contacts and also comprising the extracted communication identifiers if the extracted communication identifiers do not match the communication identifiers from any contacts. This list is displayed to the user who can then select one or more contacts and/or communication identifiers. The use can then choose to reply to those selected using any one of the available communication methods.

Terminal and computer program product for replying to an email message using one of a plurality of communication methods

A system and method to obtain a nickname for records, particularly records having number fields. A set of triplets is identified in a record. Criteria, at least at a strict level, is set to establish that used triplets are many, and hard to avoid. Using this criteria, triplets may be processed in order. Each triplet is checked against the criteria. Avoidance of the used criteria, i.e. that the current triplet is not used, enables the triplet to be associated with the record. Failure to avoid the used criteria enables a loop to continue if the exit criteriais not met. A next triplet is obtainedif the inner loop continues. Otherwise, a check to get a more relaxed used triplet criteria is made. If a relaxed used triplet criteria is available, the relaxed used triplet criteria (having fewer used triplets) is used, and an outer loop continues with processing of the list of tripletsagain. Otherwise, a triplet may manually be associated with the record

Method and apparatus for changing at least one communication parameter for a communication device

According to an embodiment method for securing a personal item for preventing unauthorized passage out of secured premises comprises steps of checking tag for identifying a personal item exiting the premises, checking a permission bits of the identified tag, and determining according to the permission bits of the tag is the item allowed to leave premises secured by the security system.

Anti-theft arrangement, method and program

A manner of providing ring-tune alerts to announce the arrival of incoming communications at a communication device such as a mobile station operable in a wireless communication network. When notification an incoming communication arrives at the mobile station, the mobile station detects the type and origin of the communication and then composes a ring tune enhanced to provide incoming call information to the subscriber. The enhancement may include temporarily compounding the ring tune, tonal or stylistic enhancement, applying compound accompaniment, or applying tempo variation. The ring-tune components may be installed by the manufacturer or distributor of the instrument, or may be downloaded by the subscriber. The communication device may also be a personal computer operable to communicate through a communication network such as the Internet.

Compound ring tunes

A system and method for tracking productivity using a portable communication device such as a mobile station. The mobile station includes a memory storage unit for storing information related to project profiles. When a communication activity is initiated a timer is started to measure the amount of time that the activity consumes, and queries an activity table to determine whether an identifier associated with the activity has a profile association. If so, an event record is made of the profile and the type of communication activity. When the activity is terminated, the event record is supplemented with the duration of the activity. If there is no profile associated with an activity identifier associated with a current activity, then the user may be queried to determine whether an association should be created. The event records may be loaded onto a PC for storage for further processing or to a report generating device for the generation of an appropriate report.

Using a mobile station for productivity tracking

A system and method for downloading fragmented mobile-station ring tones and multimedia presentations for promotional and entertainment purposes. One or more presentations are defined and stored in an electronic storage medium in communication with a fragmentation processor. Ideally, the fragmentation process involves in the first instance segmentation of the presentation according to a predetermined rule set. Whether segmented or not, upon receipt of a fragment delivery request the fragmentation processor reviews the delivery history with respect to the target mobile station or recipient and selects a previously undelivered fragment. The fragment is formatted according to the requirements of the target and transmitted. Preferably a confirmation of receipt is made following transmission. When a completion notification is received, the fragmentation processor initiates a verification algorithm to confirm the completion and, if valid, alerts the system operator.

Examination is made of an indicia of the terminating message or call, and responsive thereto, selected annunciation is made of the terminating message or call. Annunciating apparatus, and associated method, for selectably annunciating message termination at a radio communication device

A programmed, first communication device, such as a cell phone, operable by a first user in a celebrity mode for requesting a photograph, and operable in a paparazzi mode for taking a picture. When in the celebrity mode, a celebrity signal indicating that a photograph of the first user is desired, is transmitted to at least one second communication device operable in the paparazzi mode. When in the paparazzi mode, an indicator alerts the first user when a celebrity signal has been received so that the first user may take a picture of a second user of the at least one second communication device.

A method for facilitating identification of a telephone, whereby a determination is made whether a custom ring tune has been set for the mobile telephone. If it is determined that a custom ring tune has been set for the mobile telephone, then the custom ring tune is generated. If it is determined that a custom ring tune has not been set for the mobile telephone, then a unique identifier of the mobile telephone is determined, a ring tune corresponding to the unique identifier is determined, and the ring tune corresponding to the unique identifier is generated. Thus, a mobile telephone may generate a distinct ring tune without requiring a user to program such a distinct ring tune.

A method for indicating status on a programmed communication device wherein each of one or more backlights is associated with a respective key of a plurality of keys. Status information to be communicated to a user of the communication device is then generated, and one or more backlights are illuminated according to a pattern corresponding to the status information. Thus, a visual graphical display is not necessary, cost is reduced, volume is conserved, and reliability is increased.

A terminal adapted to communicate via a communications system includes a memory capable of storing a plurality of ringing tones, where the plurality of ringing tones includes at least one set of at least two ringing tones associated with at least one event. The terminal also includes a controller capable of choosing a ringing tone from the set(s) of ringing tones based upon a predefined selection criteria, such as based upon a random search criteria or a sequential search criteria.
