An apparatus operates to cause financial transfers responsive to data read from data bearing records. The apparatus includes a card reader that is operative to read card data from a user card. At least one computer in operative connection with the card reader is operative to cause a determination to be made that the read card data corresponds to an authorized financial account. The at least one computer is operative to cause a financial transfer to or from the account responsive to the determination and user inputs to at least one input device of the machine. The automated banking machine includes a housing. The housing is at least partially surrounded by an enclosure that operates to protect the housing and machine from environmental conditions.

An automated banking machine operates responsive to data bearing records. The automated banking machine includes a card reader that reads card data from a user card. The read card data corresponds to a financial account and is used to authorize the machine user to carry out a transaction on the financial account. The automated banking machine includes a display and a printer to produce records of a financial transaction carried out with the card reader. The automated banking machine also includes a validator arrangement including a currency note validator which reads data from a currency note in determining validity of the note. The note validator, while remaining supported by the machine, is slidable to extend outside of the machine where it can be pivoted to an orientation at which it can be serviced.

The chest door includes dead bolt portions at the hinge side that resist separation of the door from the chest if the hinge is compromised.

The leveling legs are extendable in the openings to lift and support the ATM from an underlying floor surface, allowing the underlying pallet to be disassembled. The ATM can be leveled using the leveling legs.

An automated banking machine () is provided. The automated banking machine may include a fascia () in operative connection with a frame (). The machine may include a plurality of hardware devices which are accessible through the fascia. The hardware devices may include a cash dispenser (), receipt printer (), and a card reader (). The fascia may include replaceable bezels () with apertures therein for providing access to hardware devices. The bezels may be operative to float with respect to the fascia and hardware devices to automatically align hardware devices with the bezels. In addition the hardware devices may include movable portions which are operative to automatically align with the bezels. The bezels may include ramps, ribs, or other angled surfaces which guide the hardware devices into alignment with the openings in the bezels.

An automated banking machine (,) has a secure chest (,). A sheet dispenser assembly is supported on the chest through movable slides (,). The dispenser may be moved outward through an opening (,) in the chest by extending the slides. The dispenser may be disengaged from the slides through use of a portable carrier (,). The portable carrier has a lifting device which is operated to lift the dispenser relative to the slides enabling disengagement therefrom. The dispenser is then movable away from the chest for servicing on the carrier. The dispenser may be re-engaged with the slides after servicing using the portable carrier.

An automated banking machine (10) has a housing (12). A rollout tray (32) supports serviceable components including a display (36) and a keypad (48) thereon. The rollout tray includes a service opening (54) which is used to access service points on the serviceable components when the rollout tray is extended from the housing. When the tray is retracted access through the service opening is blocked.
