A method of dealing with anomalies in an output signal is provided. The method includes monitoring transitions in the output signal. When transitions do not occur at expected times, detecting an anomalous signal. Determining the type of anomalous signal based at least in part on the time period of the anomalous signal and conditioning the output signal based on the type of anomalous signal detected.

Output signal error detection, circumvention, signal reconstruction and recovery

A system to determine unwanted noise produced by simulation equipment. In one embodiment, an angular rotation noise measuring system comprises a stable body, a laser, at least one interferometer and at least one mirror. The laser is adapted to generate a primary laser beam and is mounted to the stable body. The at least one interferometer is adapted to split the primary laser beam into two or more out of phase secondary laser beams. Moreover, the interferometer is coupled to the stable body. The at least one mirror is coupled to a fixture on a vibration generating device. The fixture is adapted to hold a device under test. Each mirror is adapted to reflect an associated secondary laser beam back to the interferometer such that an interference pattern is formed with the secondary laser beams. Changes to the interference pattern determine the angular rotation noise caused by the vibration generating device.

Small angle high frequency angular displacement measurement system

A system for detecting radiation events in a ring laser gyro is provided. The system includes one or more photodetectors, that produce photocurrent signals to monitor the ring laser gyro. Further, the system includes one or more comparator circuits actuating at one or more thresholds. The one or more comparator circuits are responsive to the photodetectors to detect when a radiation event occurs based on the photocurrent signal. The system further includes a path length control circuit responsive to the one or more comparator circuits, that restores operating conditions for the ring laser gyro when a radiation event occurs.

Detecting radiation events in a ring laser gyroscope

A system, circuit and method are disclosed for operating a Ring Laser Gyroscope (RLG) off-mode-peak to avoid exciting undesirable transverse modes. An alternate PLC operating point can be used to bias the optical path length of the RLG to an appropriate side of an ideal integer number of wavelengths, and thus avoid exciting the undesirable transverse modes. Although this alternate PLC operating point is not perfect with respect to establishing an integer number of wavelengths, this operation provides acceptable performance of the RLG's (in particular, short length path RLG's), and acceptable margin can be established relative to variations in the PLC set points involved.
