An installation gauge for use in an elevator hoistway is provided. The installation gauge includes a platform assembly and a frame assembly configured to support the platform assembly. The frame assembly includes one or more safety assemblies and one or more guide assemblies. Opposing guide shoes are connected to each of the one or more guide assemblies. The opposing guide shoes are centered about a guide rail and configured to determine a centerline of the guide rail. A lift assembly is configured to facilitate hoisting of the platform assembly and the frame assembly within the elevator hoistway. A plurality of safety ropes couples the lift assembly to the one or more safety assemblies. A climbing rope is attached to the lift assembly. The determination of the centerline of the guide rail can be used as a basis to install other hoistway equipment.

The application is directed to a system for conveying fluid to one or more downstream locations including a plurality of downstream locations severally. The system includes one or more upstream fluid sources, a fluid routing system in fluid communication with the one or more upstream fluid sources via an upstream fluid line and each of the downstream locations via separate downstream fluid lines. The fluid routing system includes fluid connections corresponding to each of the downstream fluid lines and is operationally configured to fluidly connect with a particular fluid connection while remaining fluidly disconnected from the remaining fluid connections.

Assembly, system and method for directed high-pressure fluid delivery

A false car device configured for use in an elevator hoistway is provided. The false car device includes a platform assembly and a frame assembly configured to support the platform assembly. The frame assembly includes one or more safety assemblies. A lift assembly is configured to facilitate hoisting of the platform and the frame assembly within the elevator hoistway. A climbing rope is attached to the lift assembly and has a tension. The safety assembly is configured to engage an elevator guide rail in the event the tension in the climbing rope is lost.

Multi-component robot for below ice search and rescue

A picture framing device comprising a mainbody piece, a backplate piece, and a support bracket. The mainbody piece includes a true frame portion, a lens portion, and a rearward confinement depression. The backplate piece has an extremely precise shape commensurate with the confinement depression for very close fitting reception therein. The peripheral edges of the backplate are smooth and include structure for providing an invisible union with the mainbody. Each piece is integrally formed from a transparent acrylic plastic substance via an injection molding process. Also included is structure to interlockably engage the pieces one with another. The support bracket includes structure to provide optimum support for the device, although it is not utilized when the device is to be wall-mounted since its purpose is for supporting the device in its upright position on a desk or the like. A method for cropping a large pictorial web of material down to a smaller predetermined size for ultimate precise reception within the confines of the confinement depression is further disclosed. The method involves moving the clear backplate over the large web while viewing therethrough and thus selecting the most desirable small pictorial arrangement and for subsequently utilizing the backplate as a precision template for guiding a knife along the smooth edges thereof in actually effecting the cropping action, thus establishing a smaller precision fitting picture or the like for the confinement depression.
