Example embodiments provide a device that includes a housing with a surface with a cable pass-through hole, and a plate mounted against a surface of the housing, such that the plate includes a base which is affixed to the housing surface, and a protruding portion which extends vertically from the base, and the protruding portion has a support element which protrudes in a horizontal direction with respect to the base so a cable may rest against the protruding portion while being passed through the cable pass-through hole.

This invention is a mounting system for a loudspeaker system that is capable of positioning and re-positioning the box-like device of the loudspeaker without requiring the use of any retaining/tensioning fasteners. A bracket facilitates constraining the positioning and repositioning for the roll and pitch axes while simultaneously providing audible feedback angular movement indication that enable vertical and horizontal orientation with respect both to the installation environment and to match its positioning to other like installed systems.

At least one embodiment of the invention provides an easy-to-install recessed speaker mounting assembly. The assembly may comprise a mounting frame, a plurality of dog fasteners, and a dog actuator ring. The mounting frame may define an opening for receiving an audio transducer, and the mounting frame may also include an outer flange around an outer perimeter of the mounting frame. The plurality of dog fasteners may be rotationally coupled to the mounting frame. The dog actuator ring may be adapted to fit within an inner perimeter of the mounting frame, wherein rotation of the dog actuator ring relative to the mounting frame causes the rotating dog fasteners to rotate and secure the mounting frame to a mounting substrate.

Speaker mountings

A loudspeaker damping assembly can mechanically damp or isolate a loudspeaker transducer from a mounting surface. The damping assembly can include a loudspeaker housing or frame that receives a loudspeaker transducer, and a flexible, deformable, or conformable flange damper extending outward from an edge of the loudspeaker housing. The flange damper can be positioned against a loudspeaker wall or ceiling mounting surface. The damping assembly optionally includes a clamp damper opposite the flange damper, or a peripheral edge damper at an outer perimeter edge of the loudspeaker housing. In an example, a loudspeaker system includes a low frequency first transducer and an array of high frequency transducers overlapping a front face of the low frequency transducer. In an example, the transducer array has an arcuate profile, and an axis of the array is non-coaxial with a central axis of the first transducer.

Vibration damping and mounting assembly for a loudspeaker

A modular sound component system can be configured to be located at least partially behind a wall surface, wherein the wall surface is supported by multiple vertical studs. The modular system can include a rail system that is in contact with the wall surface and at least one sound reproduction module coupled to the rail system. The sound reproduction module can include a body that can be disposed on a stud-side of the wall surface, and the module can include an attachment feature that is slidably coupleable to the rail system. In an example, the sound reproduction module can include a loudspeaker assembly, an amplifier assembly, or other device. Multiple modules can be slidably coupled to the rail system, such as on different sides of a wall stud. A wired communication link can couple the multiple modules, such as across a wall surface-side of the wall stud.

In-wall multiple-bay loudspeaker system

A compensation assembly for a mounted loudspeaker system includes a mounting frame having a spherical front socket; a retaining ring; a compensating back socket having a spherical back socket; and a woofer frame having a spherical ball structure that fits between the front and back sockets. The compensating back socket has an array of matching slots that align with and partially surround bosses of the mounting frame such that the compensating back socket is free to float in a vertical axis but is restrained from rotating around a central axis. The ball structure is held by a force applied to the compensating back socket by compressing deformable elements around the outer perimeter of the compensating back socket. The deformable elements may be integrally formed as molded-in-place polymer tensioning springs or separately formed as metallic elements.

Tensioned adjustment mechanism for mounted loudspeaker system

Speaker assemblies are disclosed that are configured for simple installation and removal. Speaker assemblies include a gear ring, a plurality of screws adapted to rotate when the gear ring is rotated, and a latching mechanism adapted to extend one or more latches outward when the screws are rotated. Methods of installing speaker assemblies include inserting a frame through a mounting hole in a mounting panel. A gear ring coupled to a plurality of screws is rotated, and a plurality of latches extend outward to engage a back-side surface of the mounting panel. Methods of making speaker assemblies include coupling a plurality of screws with a gear ring to enable rotation of the plurality of screws upon rotation of the gear ring. A latching mechanism is coupled to each of the plurality of screws.

Speaker assemblies, methods of installing speaker assemblies and methods of making speaker assemblies

At least one embodiment of the invention provides a recessed assembly combining a light fixture and a speaker assembly. The light fixture is a light source that is excited via an array of high-intensity light-emitting-diodes (LED) and is imbedded into a ceiling-mounted recessed assembly. The light fixture may be fashioned such that it closely mimics existing, commonly available recessed ceiling lighting assemblies. A speaker assembly is mounted within the recessed assembly so that both light and sound can be provided by the recessed assembly.

A baffle assembly fastening system and mounting frame assembly that can be installed and secured without the use of tools. A baffle assembly frame defining an opening to receive a fixture and having an exposed first surface. A fastener is rotationally coupled to the baffle frame. The fastener extends from the exposed first surface to secure the baffle assembly to a recessed mounting frame, wherein the fastener can be manually rotated from a disengaged position to an engaged position in less ring is coupled to the baffle assembly and has a plurality of aligning posts that serve to align the baffle assembly as it is inserted into a recessed mounting frame.

A speaker frame that can be rotated to adjust the direction and/or angle of sound dispersion of a speaker mounted therein. One embodiment of the invention includes a recessed speaker frame with an angled flange mounted on an angled ridge. The angled flange rides on the angled ridge to cause the angle of the speaker frame to change, relative to a mounting surface, within a range of angles. The range of angles defined by the maximum cumulative angle of the flange and angled ridge.

Angled speaker assembly

One embodiment of the invention provides a post extension system frame assembly for mounting fixtures within a recess in a wall or ceiling and that can be adjusted and installed with minimal time and effort. One feature of the invention provides a post extension mechanism that can be manually installed and/or adjusted to position a first audio device either above or below the mounting surface and an angling mechanism permits adjusting the direction and angle of the audio device to permit positioning the sound dispersion axis of the audio device (e.g., speaker, tweeter, woofer, audio transducer, etc.) directly towards a listener. Another feature of the invention provides a rotating angling mechanism that permits adjusting the sound dispersion axis of a recessed second audio device.

Audio device post extension and angling system

A frame assembly for mounting recessed fixtures that can be manually installed without the use of tools. One embodiment of the invention includes a primary mounting frame for recessed installation, the primary mounting frame defining an open interior to accommodate a fixture and including a border flange along the outer edge of the open interior. A ratcheting fastener is rotationally coupled to the primary mounting frame and can be manually secured by depressing it toward the border flange to secure the primary mounting frame between opposite surfaces of a substrate. The ratcheting fastener can be rotated to engaged or disengaged from ratcheting teeth.

Tool-less frame fastening system

One embodiment of the invention provides a post extension system frame assembly for mounting fixtures within a recess in a wall or ceiling and that can be adjusted and installed with minimal time and effort. One feature of the invention provides a post extension and angling mechanism that can be manually installed and/or adjusted to set the depth, direction and angle of an audio device so as to be able to position the sound dispersion axis of the audio device (e.g., speaker, tweeter, woofer, audio transducer, etc.) directly towards a listener.
