A golf club head having an improved striking face is disclosed herein. More specifically, the golf club head in accordance with the present invention has a striking face including a thin center zone and multiple zones surrounding the center zone.

A method for manufacturing a golf club head including a golf club head body, a striking face, and an inner wall supporting the striking face. A ledge extends from a body into the interior of the golf club head body, and the inner wall is disposed within a gap between the striking face and the ledge. A rear surface of the inner wall is supported by a portion of the golf club head body, and a rear surface of the striking face is in contact with a portion of the inner wall. The inner wall may be inserted into the golf club head through an opening defined in the toe portion of the golf club head or the rear portion of the golf club head.

A golf club head with a crown comprising an inner crown portion and an outer crown portion. The inner crown portion may be made of a low density or low elastic modulus material. The outer portion of the crown defines an opening to the cavity. A golf club head having a slot in the sole filled with an insert in which the slot is positioned close to the striking face. The slot can be a uniform distance from the striking face or the slot can curve away from the striking face in the toe region. The insert can have a uniform height or a non-uniform height. Inserts with uniform heights can have a low height profile. Inserts with non-uniform heights can have a lower height in a central portion of the insert compared to an edge portion or a perimeter portion of the insert. The insert can also have flanges or protrusions for installation into the slot. The resulting golf club head improves performance, as the sole slot with insert allows the striking face to have a profile that meets the needs at that location.

A co-forged iron type golf club is disclosed. More specifically, the present invention discloses a co-forged iron type golf club with the body portion made out of a first material and at least one weight adjustment portion monolithically encased within the body portion of the co-forged iron type golf club head without the need for secondary attachment or machining operations. The present invention also includes a combination internal cavities and weight adjustment portions that improve the inertial and performance attributes of the iron type golf club head.

A golf club head with a crown comprising an inner crown portion and an outer crown portion. The inner crown portion may be made of a low density or low elastic modulus material. The outer portion of the crown defines an opening to the cavity, a riser extending into the cavity, and a ledge extending from the edge of the riser. The ledge may define a first channel and a second channel that extend around the ledge. The first channel is filled with adhesive to secure the inner portion of the crown to the ledge. The inner portion of the crown is attached to the ledge such that the opening is covered by the inner portion of the crown. The golf club head may also have a sole comprising an inner sole portion and an outer sole portion.
