Method and apparatus for implementing gestures across user interface display apparatuses, including detecting and saving, at a first user interface display apparatus, an initial user input; determining whether the initial user input is within a predetermined proximity to a boundary with a second user interface display apparatus; detecting and saving additional user input continuing from the initial user input; when the initial user input is within the predetermined proximity, incorporating additional information from a transition message received within a predetermined time period from the second user interface display apparatus to the saved user input, the predetermined time period corresponding to a message time between the first and second user interface display apparatuses from a of the initial user input; and implementing the saved user input on one or mole of the first and second user interface display apparatuses.

Method and apparatus for using gestures across multiple devices

A method and system for managing and organizing objects in a virtual workspace is disclosed. The method and system display a plurality of objects and containers on the virtual workspace. The objects and containers are assigned to corresponding layers. The method and system receive user input for changing the corresponding layer of one or more of the objects and containers, recursively fit test each of the layers for an overlap between the one or more of the objects and containers and each container assigned to each layer based on the user input, incorporate the one or more objects and containers into a target container assigned to a target layer when the overlap exceeds a predetermined threshold, and assigns the one or more of the objects and containers to a background layer when the overlap fails to exceed the predetermined threshold in the fit testing.

Method and apparatus for managing and organizing objects in a virtual repository

A tool tray for an interactive input system comprises a housing having an upper surface defining at least one receptacle sized to receive a tool for interacting with an interactive surface, a sensor configured to detect the presence of the tool within the receptacle and at least one display in communication with the sensor. The display is configured to present a pointer attribute selection screen upon removal of the tool from the receptacle.

Interactive input system and tool tray therefor

A plug-and-play device providing a set of functionality comprises a plug-and-play interface, storage, and software stored in the storage. The software is automatically executed by a computer when the plug-and-play device is connected thereto via the plug-and-play interface. The software detects disconnection of the plug-and-play device from the computer and terminates execution in response thereto. The computer does not persistently store the software thereafter.
