A face shield assembly includes, among other things, a shield configured to be placed adjacent a front of a head of a user, a tube configured to be placed against a rear of the head of the user, and fasteners. Each of the fasteners binds the tube to at least the shield.

A lighting system of a vehicle is provided herein and includes an external lighting device, one or more sensors configured to detect an object approaching the vehicle, and a controller configured to identify the object and assess a threat level thereof based on input from the one or more sensors. If the controller determines that the object is high threat, the controller operates the external lighting device to produce an illumination sequence in the direction of the object.

A vehicle light strip is provided herein. The vehicle light strip includes a light-producing assembly including a plurality of light sources arranged as a strip attached to a panel. The light-producing assembly is angled in a downward direction to illuminate a ground surface. A photoluminescent structure is disposed on the light-producing assembly and is configured to luminesce in response to excitation by the plurality of light sources. One or more retroreflective beads is configured to reflect an incident light directed towards the light-producing assembly. An optic is operably coupled with the light-producing assembly and is disposed externally of the one or more retroreflective beads for distributing an excitation light in a predefined direction.

A vehicle lighting assembly is provided herein. The vehicle lighting assembly includes a back panel configured to couple to a vehicle. A plurality of light sources emit a common wavelength of light. A first portion of the plurality of light sources is operably coupled with a luminescent structure. A second portion of light sources emits the common wavelength of light from an overmold material that is disposed outboard of the first and second portions of light sources.

Vehicle lighting assembly

A vehicle lighting system is provided herein. A spotlight is coupled to a vehicle and is configured to project light in a target direction. A controller is configured to wirelessly send command signals to the spotlight. A user-input device is in communication with the controller and is provided on a steering wheel of the vehicle. The command signals are based on user-input and control at least one of an aim direction and a light activation of the spotlight.

Systems and methods are disclosed for a police vehicle monitor. An example disclosed police vehicle includes first beacons positioned on a chassis of the police vehicle, second beacons position on a lightbar of the police vehicle, and a police assistance unit. The example police assistance unit is to track a distance of wearable nodes associated with a police officer. Additionally, the example police assistance unit is to, in response to the distance satisfying a first threshold, lock doors and roll up windows of the police vehicle.

A warning indicator system for a vehicle side-view mirror includes light sources disposed to emit light in patterns and/or colors visible through a partially light-reflective surface. One or more processors are operatively configured to actuate the light sources in predetermined sequences defining a stealth mode, a pursuit mode, and a traffic advisor mode. The partially light-reflective surface may be a light transmitting substrate having a coating of a reflective substance provided in a thickness allowing at least a partial transmission of light therethrough. The light sources may be printed light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Disposing the light sources in desired patterns to emit desired colors on actuation in a predetermined sequence allows configuring the side mirrors to emit visible light signals indicative of the stealth mode, a pursuit mode, and a traffic advisor mode.

A light strip for a vehicle panel is provided herein. The light strip includes a light-producing assembly. A photoluminescent structure is disposed on the light-producing assembly and is configured to luminesce in response to excitation by a light source of the light-producing assembly. An adhesive layer having one or more retroreflective beads embedded therein is disposed on the photoluminescent structure. An overmold material is disposed over a portion of the retroreflective beads.

Systems and methods are disclosed for a police vehicle exterior light control. An example disclosed police vehicle includes first beacons positioned on a chassis of the police vehicle, second beacons positioned on a lightbar of the police vehicle, and a plurality of spotlights on the lightbar. The example police vehicle also includes a light control unit that tracks a location of wearable nodes associated with a police officer. Additionally, the light control unit illuminates the area around the police officer using selected ones of the plurality of spotlights.

A vehicle illumination apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an emitting layer comprising a plurality of printed light sources and configured to conform to an outer surface of a panel. A controller is configured to selectively activate the light sources to reveal a symbol defined by the emitting layer.

A vehicle notification system is disclosed. The system comprises a light generating layer conforming to a surface of a decklid configured to enclose a storage compartment. The light generating layer comprises a plurality of LEDs in a semiconductor ink operable to emit a first emission. The system further comprises a controller configured to selectively activate the plurality of LEDs in response to a first signal from a decklid ajar indicator and a second signal from an emergency lighting module.
