An integrated cinema amplifier comprises a power supply stage that distributes power over a plurality of channels for rendering immersive audio content in a surround sound listening environment. The amplifier automatically detects maximum and net power availability and requirements based on audio content by decoding audio metadata and dynamically adjusts gains to each channel or sets of channels based on content and operational/environmental conditions. A power supply stage provides power to drive a plurality of channels corresponding to speaker feeds to a plurality of speakers. The amplifier has a front panel having an LED array with each LED associated with a respective channel or group of channels of the multi-channel amplifier, and a control unit configured to light the LEDs according to display patterns based on operating status or error conditions of the amplifier.

Multi-channel cinema amplifier with power-sharing, messaging and multi-phase power supply

Embodiments include a power source outputting power to drive speakers and lights in a venue; a control unit coupled to the power source and outputting multi-channel digital audio data to the speakers and light control data to the lights; and a unitary transmission bus coupling the output of the power source to the speakers and the lights and transmitting the power, the digital audio data, and the light control data to the speakers and the lights. The lighting control data comprises metadata superimposed over the digital audio data and power. Other actuators besides lights may also be used such as e.g. steam/water generators, smell/aroma generators, prop movements, LCD displays, hologram generators, and the like.

Distributed amplification and control system for immersive audio multi-channel amplifier

A method for selecting a subset of channels of (e.g., determined from) at least a segment of a multichannel audio program for watermarking and watermarking the selected subset of channels, and a system or device configured to implement any embodiment of the method, or including a buffer which stores at least one frame or other segment of a multichannel audio program generated by any embodiment of the method or steps thereof. Some embodiments generate watermarking metadata during program creation including by analyzing audio content to be included in segments of a multichannel program, determining at least one watermark suitability value for each channel of each of the segments, and including the watermark suitability values (or watermarking data determined therefrom) as metadata in the program. Some embodiments are implemented by a playback system which determines the selected subset of channels to be watermarked.

Selective watermarking of channels of multichannel audio

A low-quality rendition of a complex soundtrack is created, synchronized and combined with the soundtrack. The low-quality rendition may be monitored in mastering operations, for example, to control the removal, replacement or addition of aural content in the soundtrack without the need for expensive equipment that would otherwise be required to render the soundtrack.

Methods and apparatuses for generating and using low-resolution preview tracks with high-quality encoded object and multichannel audio signals

Control data templates are generated independent of a plurality of audio elements based on user input. The user input relates to parameter values and control inputs for operations. In response to receiving audio elements after the control data templates are generated, audio objects are generated to store audio sample data representing the audio elements. Control data is generated based on the parameter values and the control inputs for the operations in the control data templates. The control data specifies the operations to be performed while rendering the audio objects. The control data is then stored separately from the audio sample data in the audio objects. The audio objects can be communicated to downstream recipient devices for rendering and/or remixing.

Interactive audio content generation, delivery, playback and sharing

A method for synchronizing secure clocks in a system without using any external clock, a system configured to perform the method, and a computer medium storing system code. Each secure clock is adjustable subject to a set of predetermined adjustment constraints. The intersection of the adjustment constraints of all the clocks is a limit intersection. The clocks may be synchronized to an average adjusted time of the secure clocks (if the average adjusted time is within the limit intersection) or to a substitute average adjusted time within the limit intersection if the average adjusted time is outside the limit intersection. Synchronization can occur in response to a request to adjust at least one of the clocks by a proposed clock adjustment value or to synchronize at least one of them without otherwise adjusting them.
