An aerodynamic system for an aircraft. The aerodynamic system includes a first aerodynamic component configured to be movably coupled to a primary structure of the aircraft, a second aerodynamic component which is movably coupled to the first aerodynamic component and a first panel element coupled to the first aerodynamic component. The first panel element at least partially covers a gap between the first aerodynamic component and the second aerodynamic component. The aerodynamic system further includes a sealing element arranged between the first aerodynamic component and the second aerodynamic component. The sealing element is configured to at least partially block an airflow between the first aerodynamic component and the second aerodynamic component.

Aerodynamic system for an aircraft

A wing for an aircraft has a main wing and a trailing edge high lift assembly which has a flap and a connection assembly movably mounting the flap to the main wing. The connection assembly has a first actuator unit for moving the flap between the retracted position and at least one extended position. The flap has a leading edge part and a trailing edge part pivotably mounted to the leading edge. The flap has a second actuator unit for moving the trailing edge part relative to the leading edge part within an operating range between an upper operating position and a lower operating position.

A wing for an aircraft, including a main wing, a slat, and a connecting assembly movably connecting the slat to the main wing, the slat being movable between retracted and extended positions. The connecting assembly includes a slat track and a roller bearing. A front section of the slat track is mounted to the slat. A rear section and an intermediate section of the slat track are mounted to the main wing via the roller bearing. The roller bearing includes a guide rail mounted to the main wing and a first roller which is rotatably mounted to the rear section of the slat track. The first roller engages a first engagement surface formed by the guide rail. The roller bearing includes a second roller which is rotatably mounted to the main wing. The second roller engages a second engagement surface formed by the intermediate section of the slat track. The first engagement surface comprises a first section, which is straight or is curved with a first radius of curvature and a first center of curvature, and the second engagement surface comprises a second section, which is straight or is curved with a second radius of curvature and a second center of curvature. When both the first section and the second section are curved, the first center of curvature and the second center of curvature are spaced from each other.

Wing for an aircraft and connecting assembly to movably connect a slat to a main wing

An aircraft wing, including a main wing, a leading edge high lift assembly including a high lift body, and an assembly connecting the high lift body to the main wing. The high lift body is movable relative to the main wing between stowed and deployed positions. The connection assembly includes at least one rotation element mounted to the high lift body and rotatably mounted to the main wing. The main wing comprises an upper panel with a leading edge portion and a lower skin panel. The high lift body has a leading and a trailing edge. The high lift body trailing edge moves along the main wing upper skin panel leading edge portion when the high lift body is moved between the stowed and deployed positions. The upper skin panel leading edge portion is elastically deformed when the high lift body is moved from the stowed to the deployed position.

An arrangement comprising an airfoil body, a junction mechanism for attaching the airfoil body to a support element of an aircraft, and a fairing for aerodynamically covering the junction mechanism. The fairing has a cover element covering a trailing end portion of the fairing. The cover element is attached to the trailing edge of the airfoil body by a form fit connection.

A support stay is provided to improve failsafe configurations for movable parts of an aircraft. The support stay supports the movable part with a primary body and a separate secondary body. The primary body and the secondary body provide separate load paths. The secondary body is attached to the primary body by a mechanical connection, e.g., rivets. If one of the bodies becomes structurally compromised, for example by a crack, this configuration does not transfer shear load between the primary and secondary body, so that the other body does not become structurally compromised.

A wing for an aircraft including a slat, and a connection assembly for movably connecting the slat to the main wing. The connection assembly includes a first connection element movably mounted to the main wing and mounted to the slat, and a second connection element movably mounted to the main wing and mounted to the slat. The connection assembly includes a drive unit connected to the slat that includes a first and second drive station spaced apart in the wing span direction. The first drive station has a first input section, a first gear unit and a first output section connected to the slat. The second drive station has a second input section connected to the drive shaft, a second gear unit, and a second output section connected to the slat. The drive unit includes a sync shaft coupling the first output section to the second output section.

Wing for an aircraft

An aircraft structure component for laminar flow, the aircraft structure component having an outer skin with an aerodynamic surface, wherein the aerodynamic surface has a leading edge portion and a downstream portion adjacently downstream from the leading edge portion, and wherein the downstream portion of the aerodynamic surface includes a paint layer that is not present in the leading edge portion, so that an edge line is formed between the leading edge portion and the downstream portion by the beginning paint layer. An object, to provide an aircraft structure component that allows for a reduced aerodynamic drag, is achieved in that the edge line has a ramp-shaped cross section, wherein the thickness of the paint layer increases from a starting point over a predetermined ramp length to a saturation point where the full thickness of the paint layer is reached.

Aircraft structure component for laminar flow

A main aircraft wing slat assembly comprising a slat and two elongate slat tracks. A drive arrangement drivingly engages the two slat tracks and effects parallel synchronous movement of the slat tracks between retracted and extended positions. The connection between the slat and one or both slat tracks is realized by an interconnection portion extending between at least part of the slat and at least part of the respective slat track. The interconnection portion is elastically deformable and constructed such that a first stiffness against deformation about a first axis, is at least ten times a second stiffness against deformation about a second axis, which extends perpendicularly to the first axis and between the first and second portions of the interconnection portion, and at least ten times a third stiffness against deformation about a third axis, which extends perpendicularly to the first and second axes.

Slat assembly

A wing for an aircraft, including a main wing, a slat, and a connection assembly for movably connecting the slat to the main wing, such that the slat is movable between a retracted position and at least one extended position. The connection assembly includes a first connection element and a second connection element, both movably mounted to the main wing and mounted to the slat, wherein the second connection element is spaced apart from the first connection element in a wing span direction. The wing further includes a drive unit provided at the main wing and connected to the slat for initiating movement of the slat. An object, to prevent skew cases of the slat, is achieved in that the connection assembly includes a rotatable sync shaft rotatably engaging both the first connection element and the second connection element for sync movement of the first and second connection elements.

A wing for an aircraft includes a wing structure attachable to a body of an aircraft, at least one high lift body movably supported at the wing structure, a drive unit coupled with the wing structure and the high lift body and adapted to move the high lift body relative to the wing structure in a chordwise direction between a retracted position and an extended position, and a sealing device coupled with the high lift body and the wing structure. The high lift body comprises at least one outer edge facing to the wing structure, which at least one outer edge creates a gap to the wing structure at least in an extended position. The sealing device includes a flexible sealing body, which seals the intermediate space between the high lift body and the wing structure in extended positions of the high lift body.
